Less than 1 frame input lag = Not synchronizing with speech?

I was wondering if a tv or monitor has less than 1 frame input lag, if the sound will be off synch in movies?

I know this is very tiny difference but a question that is possible nonetheless. Most tv's have greater than 2 frames lag. I would wonder if dubbing is set to this middle standard.
 
Usually it's hard to tell lipsync issues when they are off by under 50 milliseconds. Over that, and it becomes noticeable.
 
Interesting! I wonder what the default delay is on audio on a dvd or netflix or blu-ray. It would have to exist as most tv's are quite chock full of input lag. Is there any at all?

I notice a slight video before audio on almost everything i watch regardless of audio card i use or video card for past 7 years since i bought this monitor that has unusually low input lag. Possible?
 
@60Hz each frame exists for 16.667 milliseconds (just as a reference) so it'd be about 3 frames of input lag required to notice an obvious de-sync. Also, depending upon the playback quality and the codec used, it is very possible for Blu-ray (or HD-DVD to de-sync (video lags behind audio) - I've had that happen before. There is also the science thing that light travels faster than sound, so while unlikely, if your audio playback was located a distance that was decently farther than your monitor is to your eyes it could create a perceived delay. But we're talking microseconds unless you're in a really poorly designed home cinema setup (talking jerry rigged movie theater in your basement kind of setup).

i keep seeing it all desynched. yes i see it also video behind audio as well as other way around.
 
What movie app are you using? Several of them can be set to adjust audio sync backwards or forwards. Your app could have been accidentally set to play all videos with audio too late.

But if you've seen audio desync happen both behind and ahead, then what are your video sources? DVDs, Blu-Rays, using programs to rip them, watching videos on YouTube, or what?
