    On another note ..

Why I am contacting you is that I am very interested in running IBM M1015 HBAs on my illumos / openindiana systems and it seems like choose to flash e.g. http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1037929117&postcount=125

Also on http://www.nexenta.org/boards/1/topics/3300 I see that IBM SeveRAID M1015 works without issues!

My customers need hardware support form either Dell, HP, Sun or Oracle (and Oracle is killer expensive they are trying to kill of Sun based X86).

These HBA cards (M1015) is that I can get these HBAs as part of a stock IBM order (e.g. System x3550 M3 (7944) or the E3 based System x3250 M4 (2583)). The System x3550 M3 is known to run Solaris 11.

Could you please provide me with flashing directions / links and/or download URLs - hopefully a complete MOP - such that I can flash these cards and set them to "IT mode" and make a reliable ZFS server.

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,

I read your posting concerning you rig a) Supermicro X9SCM-F motherboard and b) 3 IBM M1015 cards. Running Openindiana

I have been doing a lot of work on the X9SCA-F oi_148b and oi_151a specifically for

    1. Bug # 1333 (illumos) and developed both work /etc/system workarounds and also tested a patch with Rich Lowe and Aurbry Li for the "apic_timer.c" code to solve a bug in which kernel CPU grows across weeks to crash both a X9SCM-F and a X9SCA-F motherboard. It is now assigned to Garrett D'Amore for final integration.

    2. Bug #1627 an issue that if you run the latest oi_151a and compile a nightly build the system will hard crash is Hyperthreading is active - this is still in progress - solution right now is to disable hyperthreading.

I would be happy to discuss my findings and/or provide patches and or workarounds for your MOBO if you are hitting the same issues I did.

    Thanks in Advance
