Leadtek 6800NU overclocks like Mad!!

anyone have a US source for Galaxy 6800NU's?

Yea, I looked for some but couldn't find any. It looks like I will be shelling out for the Leadtek 6800NU next week, since it seems ot have the best cooler aside from the galaxy. I thought about the Chaintech one that is stock at 358/770, but I figured I would get that oc anyway and would prefer a non-reference cooler.

I will post my oc and impressions once I have it.

The leadtek has a really nice all copper cooler. Its really heavy and the fan is super quiet.

Don't forget to mention the cooler on the other side, here's pics of mine:

i heard that gainward 6800nu has 2.2ns mem (good for 800) instead of 2.8ns found in most. but now im tempted to buy leadtek 6800nu, 400/900 is good o/c. it would be mad if u can unlock 16pipes with [h]mod or rivatuner.

is leadtek 6800nu hsf identical to leadtek 6800gt/ultra hsf?

64bit is here, clear out some of your PM's. Anyway, here is what I tried to reply.

I bought mine from Newegg.com. It was $293 at the time. I think they've gone down since.

I haven't overclocked it anymore. It's stable at 390/860, and everything runs flawlessly. Also, My temp is right at 54*C idle with this overclock. I'll be getting the NV Silencer when it comes out, and I may overclock it more then.

And no, I haven't checked the memory chips. I don't want to take the cooler off until I get the Silencer. I will check them then.

I did 400/900 for a while, but I had some odd pauses with Doom3 now and then, and sometimes a complete freeze. On restarting and trying to return it or lower it, as it was changing the clock 2D/3d, I did see some artifacts for a split second on the desktop.

I guess Doom 3 is too much, and most people said their normal overclocks have to be lowered just for Doom3.

I ended up just doing 375/800 since even at that the D3 runs great at 1280*1024 High Detail. The lower clock is worth it to insure no pauses and freezes as that is more annoying that 2-4 fps loss.

With other games, I'll probably bring the clock back to 400/850.

With my current configs, my D3 timedemo is 47 first run and 54 on 2nd run when precached.

sorry for my pm box being full.,..cleared it now.

im actually now debating whether to get a x800p or 6800vanilla. x800 for $336, 6800 for $286.

im actually leaning towards the 6800, but the x800's 256mb of ram tempts me. plus the x800 mite take ages to ship here from dell.

oh well...

I just ordered the Leadtek 6800 vanilla.

What kind of performance increase is there when overclocking from stock to 400/850 ?

Thanks :)

Yeah, that's it. That's also the place I bought it from. I paid 385$ since it was on sale. I love this card. Definitely recommended. I haven't seen any info about the ram, but I do know that its running rock solid at 900Mhz.I've been playing Far Cry and D3 and have not seen any artifacts whatsoever.

on sale for 385...you got ripped off

my nvidia reference design 6800nu seem to o/c stable at 400/900, havent tried higher yet.
