lcd broken permanently?

I put my 19in samsung syncmaster 191t in my sister's car the other night and i threw in the power block and cable in a bag into the car and i think it landed squarely on the screen. she said the monitor physically looked fine but the screen was all fucked up at the bottom. she said she thinks the pixels got messed up.

is there anyway to fix it?

Why not tell the truth and try to RMA it. Some companies might surprise you. Getting caught in a lie will always turn out bad.

I don't know anything about these LCD displays really but I'd be wondering if it's as simple as a connector that has slipped out... I mean the panel doesn't look cracked or anything (at least from what I can see).

See if they will RMA it for you I guess. Kind of expensive to just throw away ya know?

it's broke that is how a dell d600 that i had was when something landed ontop of it had to replace the lcd in it but for something like that the amount that it would cost to get a new screen is the price of it sorry for your lose but it's gone

Nah it is toast. An lcd panel is actually many layers sandwiched together. The outside glass is just to protect the many layers inside which are very fragile. There is no point in trying to fix it. Would have to replace the panel, and those cost more than a new lcd monitor costs.

Yea, for sure, I hear you on that.

I guess I missunderstood. I didn't realize something actually fell right on top of the actual panel. I thought it got jarred or something while moving. That sucks. If you got an extended service plan they might give you a new one if your lucky though.

This is a lesson learned. You could try and get it repaired, but it might run you as much as a new one.
