Latest MacOS Update Disables DisplayLink

It’s usb junk. Not supporting crap like that is a good thing.
I've been told the USB3 ones are better but both the ones I've had would burn a ton of CPU power and still be laggy. Its kind of the nature of USB there are a TON of interrupts. Replaced with a cheaper display port hub and been happy ever since. And this was with a 6700HQ so not like it was a weak CPU.

Hrm, can't agree, sorry - whilst I HAVE had the occasional hiccup with Displayport docks (not with Windows, only Mac), they were minor - and I never, ever saw any issues with CPU usage etc - this was with USB3 devices. For my work I keep a reasonably close eye on CPU usage also due to running pretty demanding workloads, so I'd have noticed if, when it was supposed to be idle, there was any CPU burn from Displaylink.

I'm not sure I understand this. So if I'm running multiple monitors from HDMI to USB C to plug into my MacBook Pro, I should be good to go since I'm not using a DisplayLink dock or DisplayLink tech right?

Apple needs to do more QA testing. I know they can't cover every situation, but damn - they have been on a roll for the last few years.

Solely because of the 10.13 ALLOW driver fiasco, and this DisplayLink BS, Apple has created thousands of extra support calls our team has to deal with (StarTech.com).

In my opinion, Apple is a total joke.
