Here's the components I currently have:

Case: Corsair 600T (White)
Ram: GSkill 8GB DDR3 1333
GPU: Sapphire Toxic 6950
SSD: Crucial M4 128GB
PSU: Corsair TX750

Here's the components I'm unsure about:

Motherboard (MSI?)

I really don't need anything special on the motherboard, but I would like one that is capable of OC'ing well as I'd like to OC either a 2500k or 2600k.

CPU (2500k vs. 2600k)

This computer will be for gaming mostly and won't be used for any extensive video rendering, photo editing, or CPU-intensive programs, so I don't really think the 2600k is justified. However, if you guys can convince me otherwise, I'd budge.

Ideally, I wouldn't like to spend more than $500 for the CPU/Motherboard and would also like to buy soon as I have the rest of the parts waiting to be assembled.

Should be fine with this:
$130 - MSI P67A-G43 Intel P67 ATX Motherboard

Though if you want to splurge:
$170 - MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 ATX Motherboard

Stick with the 2500K.

Besides the 2 additional SATA6 ports, I don't see any difference that I'd notice/utilize. Does the latter have better OCing capabilities? Thanks.

Here's a rather immature question: What's the coolest looking motherboard of quality, within this price range? (Perhaps all black, or red, or something else).
 
Wait, I thought those MSI boards already look cool enough? :eek: So basically, what's your definition of a cool looking mobo? or what colors are you looking for? lol, such a subjective question. How about you look for the best looking mobo, in your opinion, and show it to us so we have a reference for your taste.

Well, I like all black or reds mixed in, but I'm not limited to that. The blues that are present on those MSI's, I'm not a fan of though. I like the way this board looks:

That board I just posted - is that comparable to the second one Danny recommended?

They both have a 3-year warranty, are practically the same price, and the only substantial difference seems to be that one's a P67 and the other is a Z68. But either of those chipsets can adequately overclock a 2500k, right?

Either one of those motherboards will OC the 2500K fine. The only reason why I didn't recommend the Gigabyte is due to its lack of UEFI. That is a personal preference thing though.

No although Newegg did have a $15 off promo code, but it seems they are just offering Norton Antivirus free this round which I'd pay an extra $15 for them to keep it. :p
