Laptop Upgrade

I am currently running a Dell Latitude E6520 - Intel Core i5 @ 2.5ghz with 4gb ddr3 ram.
It has a 500gb 7200rpm hdd with an option for a second drive.
Would. It be worth it, and will i get a notaceble different by making the hdd a secondary drive, and getting a 64gb ssd for use as a primary?
And are there any fairly cheep 64gb ssds that anyone can reccommend.

Whether it's worth it or not is subjective, but personally, I would say yes. Coming from a 7200RPM drive, you may not notice it as much as others who are coming from a 4200RPM or 5400RPM drive. Ever since I got an SSD for my laptop, I rarely shutdown. I usually sleep or hibernate, which wakes up very quickly with an SSD.

As far as cheap but good recommendations go, you can wait until the Crucial M4 64GB is back on sale for $85 at the egg.

Few of things about before upgrade.
1) Battery life.
2) Extra heat.
3) Second drive storage reasons.
4) Faster boot times.
5) Second OS.

I ask these question when I get a customer wanting to upgrade. Performance boost is probably the main reason but on a laptop which is enclosed unit exhausting the heat harder to control. Like the previous post, probably not going to get much performance boost with SSD from 7200rpm regular hard drive. Personally I say no. Cost to size comparison of the hard drive. SSD drive last a bit longer than a regular mechanical HDD, not by much. So you can get a 64Gb drive for about $130 if your lucky, compared to 160Gb drive for $90. Regular HDD twice the size for less, about the same speed.
