laptop under 500

Hey guys, I wanted to know what you think are some of the best laptops under $500. The only thing I don't like is the netbooks.

Just throwing this unit out there, not recommending this particular unit but I did pick up a Compaq from Best Buy last month for sister-in-law that's pretty decent: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9454253&type=product&id=1218106990994

I put Windows 7 x86 Home Premium on it as it comes with the upgrade, got the drivers all the drivers on it and its not a half bad machine. Perfect for office automation and web surfing and standard def media. Nothing special but for $380 its hard to complain.
 
A desktop (ITX size) can also do this.

But you can find the m1210 (an uber gaming laptop at 12.1" from dell... from 2007) on ebay for about 500USD nowadays...

Just watch for sales at Best Buy, Frys and whatever electronics retailers you might have around. Best Buy's ad for this week has sub-$500 laptops on the first 3 pages.
