When are there going to be laptops that support 64GBs of RAM? 2015 maybe?

Given that laptops almost always have two memory slots: a very long time.

Realistically 32gig is the limit for a while.

I have seen rumors of some laptops that do 64gig but those are more luggable than laptop. aka: weigh a ton and are downright huge.

I'd guess 2016, not 15. DDR4 supports it but Samsung is making 32GB modules with like 64 chips on them. That won't fit in a SODIMM form. So we'll need to wait for them to increase the density by at least 2x if not 4x. In any case we'll need to wait for Broadwell which I guess is coming out next year and not this year (sources talking about that Nvidia-level-BS "Haswell Refresh" crap)?

Thanks for the info! I suppose I should pay more attention to tech news, I've been so obsessed with political and market news to keep up.

Well, 32GBs should be good until 2020 or so. I don't think the next iteration of Windows will need that much until then. But who can predict the future? I'm in the market for a new laptop, but won't get one for a while. I'll probably get a cheapy off of ebay if I get desperate for one in the near term.
