My son is taking a series of video production courses and wants a laptop for his birthday to use for his video work. Must be a Windows machine for compatibility. What would be the features I should be looking for?

Specs to look for:
- 4GB of RAM

- 7200RPM drive or if it's a cheap laptop, see how much cheaper it would be if you added a 7200RPM drive yourself later on.

- If battery life is not a concern at all, go for at least AMD's tri-core based laptops or Intel quad-core CPUs if that's within budget.
