There are *SPOILERS* in this post. After playing through the campaign, the missions were entertaining and I liked the variety but half of them had almost nothing to do with the plot. They could have made campaigns for each race instead of adding pointless missions were you just make money.
As for the actual plot itself, people were right when they said that it is exactly Warcraft 3 in space. With the main villain being cured, the zerg are the good guys now and all three races now team up against a new big enemy. Most of the characers were uninteresting and cliche. The original SC was always interesting in part due to the characters but in the case of SC2, I just didn't care whoever died or what happened to them. The dialogue was also pretty bad.
The lamest part was the ending which did surprise me somewhat after all that had happened in SC where everyone vows to kill Kerrigan for all the manipulation, betrayal, and slaughtering billions of people. Now they take the biggest villain in the SC universe and "cure" her.
Of course there are still two more xpacs coming and anything can happen but so far the plot for SC2 is not impressive. If it were not for the awesome multiplayer that SC2 has, SC2 would not be anything special.
With all that being said, the 60 bucks for the game was worth it for the multiplayer alone.
