L5640 O/C single processor

Hmph... that sucks.
I'm sure I can get it overclocked with some tweaking but that's for another day.

Another weird thing is I can't do -smp 11 flag without it EUEing. It's fine with 10 or 12 threads, but since it's not my dedicated folder, I'll have to settle with -smp 10 for now.

But overall, I'm extremely happy at 3.8GHz and it runs so cool. It's 25C less than my 4GHz C0 920.

I havnt seen much of a drop in tpf's changing my speed to it's lowest multiplier, it's offset by the higher CPU clock in my tests

ahh, what a shame, but a bigadv none the less

what type of memory and what are your timmings?

Currently running some 1600 ram at 633 7-7-7-20.

I'm not sure how high the memory can go so that's something I need to find out. I've never overclocked these modules before since I only needed 200 BCLK max for my old C0 920.

Getting it to run at spec shouldnt be to much trouble.

That's the problem I'm having. 1688 speeds are being a pain in the ass and I've tried 1.42 vtt, 1.7v ram. The memory controller just refuses and dies even at 1024mb LinX pass.
I've tried auto timings but I'll end up with 10-12-12-31:eek:

I guess I could check the tpf difference between the two.

Edit: Not believing that I have such shitty memory, I did some digging....
Apparently, Uncore is different for 32nm chips? http://www.behardware.com/articles/785-2/intel-core-i7-980x-6-core-32nm.html
I've been using 16x uncore and that's how it was with my 920, I guess I'll try lower uncore and see what happens.
