VR Jive covers King Kaiju VR this morning. This game is not exactly going for real-world realism, but it does allow you to pick up cars and throw those down the street. It does however use some shader functions inside the Unity engine that put his GTX 1080 system to work. Check the video out for the scoop.

King Kaiju VR is a simple Unity game that is a blast for the family the kids will love smashing and the adults will get a blast watching them smash! For me a 45-year-old I did have some giggles and I did get my $5 worth of entertainment but the bonus of this game is watching others play it’s the funniest thing I have seen my kids do in a long time.

Good idea for a VR game. To expand on this idea, how about a game where the "monster" is in VR while an entire city of player characters and NPC's are FPSing trying to take him down?

A floating head and hands is pretty scary I guess. Another VR game that looks pretty bad. /gimmick

Still my biggest issue is "Teleport to move". Someone has to come up with a viable solution to fix this issue.

My thought on the teleport to move thing is to... animate it. Like, you click or whatever to teleport, but rather than putting you right there.. why not make it look like you just "jumped" or sprinted to that location rather than a immediate teleport?

It's driving me nuts that he keeps mispronouncing Kaiju

    It's Kai-ju, not Kay-ju

There are all sort of games that have other forms of movement in VR. This is simply one game that does not have this.

Playing Vanishing Realms in a nice big room and I feel pretty viable. Awesome mix of walking around freely with then teleport for bigger jumps forward.

Developers have wanted and tried to do it that way. Problem is nausea ceiling increases when implementing it like that. Your brain thinks your body is whooshing forward but it hasn't, so your brain is getting mixed signals and then motion sickness starts creeping in.
