Kids React to Mega Man (NES).

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Funny thing is these kids, kids, will think their games sucked ass and wont know what a cell phone was cause it will be implanted in their heads,

Not to take the troll bait on how fucked up this generation of kids is, I will have to say, in my day, we used to do Mega Man playthroughs and hand off after each boss... When a new kid came over, they basically did the same thing, died or usually got pissed..

Mega Man was easy as shit, Faxanadu took fucking forever to beat, it was basically an RPG sidescroll from hell.

Another game I totally forgot was Blaster Master, that was some fun.

This generation is no more fucked up than we were to our parents, it happens every generation...

I don't know what you're talking about...

The best part of this video is when the one kid says "OK you know what? I did a good job just for getting this far even though I died."

THAT RIGHT THERE is the biggest problem with the way kids are raised these days. I'll be 28 in a few weeks, so I know I grew up around sentiments like this as well (though I'd argue not as bad). When I grew up I learned this train of thought is complete bullshit. In real life, "good job for getting this far" doesn't fly. The bottom line is you failed. Period.

It depends on the person. Some people are more motivated by "You FAIL!" while others do better with more positive criticism. I think the important thing is they all seemed to enjoy the game and get better as time went by. Would you rather them just give up completely because they didn't do the perfect run out of the gate?

I thought Faxanadu was hard as fuck. Blaster Master is my favorite game from the NES.

Not fucked up, just retarded with regard to certain skillsets that have been completely lost. Makes me wonder if you threw a baseball their way if it would just smack them straight in the forehead.

This video is horrifying. A true terror film of raw, unrelenting fear. The one asking whether the bullets their character shot did anything was brutal.... all of them but one couldn't comprehend the words "stage select" amidst various level choices, some thinking they were picking who to play as. Basic cause and effect, pattern recognition, and reasoning... gone. Self rationalization for failing miserably and telling themselves they did great just for trying.... all I could think was of this comic strip:

God help us all.

DA: Inquisition.... trophy for listening to songs. The reward system is too kind to kids today. No real effort for learning something complex. It's basically push button to win else its hard.

That sums up my thoughts on gaming today vs when I first played MM and all the subsequent versions.

There was no reward for climbing to the next platform. It was a death match from the first shot.

TBH, Shadows of Mordor kinda surprised me in the early goings with its nemesis system. The whole getting cut down early on really surprised me (along with my nemesis appearing out of nowhere to slaughter me every 5 mins...)
