I had 512MB of corsair value and decided it was time to get a gig. When I rran the valueram, I would run my system at 275x8 with a mem divider. The ram was running 225 @ 1.8v. Everything was totallly stable. I get my gig of KHX4000, rated to run at 250fsb at 3-4-4-8. I am at the stock timings, 1.8v, and the system wont even boot at 230. I can post and windows starts to load, but I never get to my OS. At 225, i can boot, but prime95 fails after a minute. Why is my valueram outperforming this ram?

Maybe because it's running dual channel. Try running a single stick at 3-4-4-8 250. If both of them work, then you can't really argue, but if they fail, then you should return it. Did you buy it as a dual channel package? If so, then you can return it since it's not working. Otherwise, you're pretty much out of luck.

s754 doesnt have dual channel. Either way, yes I tried a single stick. Both woudl post on their own at 230, but windows crashed in seconds. Netiher would post at 235.
