Keyboard freezes pressing "W"

Been having trouble lately. I have a keyboard connected to my laptop with a ps2 to usb adapter and for some reason in game when i hold down the "w" or "s" keys the character will move for a few seconds and then suddenly freeze and I'll have to press the key again to more again. I have turned off sticky keys but it didnt help.

^since talk is cheap just proved that the same issue does not occur in browser, only in game. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

What keyboard? Its possible that it could be getting locked out. IE: Pressing too many keys at once could lock out the key. Additionally, try a different keyboard to rule out a problem with the keyboard.

Dont have a different ps2 keyboard to test unforunately, have used the same keyboard before on a desktop with a standard ps2 slot with absolutely problems though

My friend recently had almost the the exact same thing happen when upgrading to a new motherboard.

He was using a usb keyboard via ps2 converter dongle and was getting the same issue. Removing the dongle and plugging in via usb solved it.

otherway around unfortunately. It's a ps2 keyboard being converted to usb. Since Im using it with a laptop theres no option to just plug it in directly. I've gone ahead and ordered a different type of converter, maybe I'll get lucky and this one will fix the problem.
