Keybaord Spacebar Help

I took off my spacebar key on my Filco Majestouch 2 keyboard today and I'm having trouble putting it back on. When I took off the key, I kind of yanked it and the whole thing came off, including the metal bar. I fidgeted with it for half an hour trying to stick the thing back in but it just wont go in. When I put the bar into the tabs (circled in red) first before putting it back on the keyboard, it won't sit properly because the bar gets in the way. The two tabs are also loose when seated into the slits, which I don't think should be the case. I didn't hear anything break when I took it out, so I'm not sure why I'm having such a hard time getting it back in.

All the tutorials I watched, the person slid the key off the metal bar, which I know you're supposed to do, but accidents happen. So hopefully I don't need to buy a new keyboard lol. Anyone help me out?

No takers? Should I just bring the keyboard to microcenter or something? I purchased it from amazon, do you guys think they'll fix it from me? It's just sitting on the center cross thing right now so its kinda flimsy, which is really annoying the OCD inside of me lol
 
I think you just play with the angle while putting the key back on so it catches on both ends...
 
1. Flat headed screwdriver to put the metal bar back in place
2. Remove keys either side of spacebar
3. Hook one end of the bar into the key.
4. Push to the left or right, flexing the metal bar. The other end will now slot in.

You may need to remove the case to get the right angle, although I have no trouble with my CM Storm QuickFire which is basically a Filco.
 
I can put the metal bar back into place on the key itself. The problem is the two tabs (what's circled in the picture) won't sit correctly when the metal bar is in place. Furthermore, they're loose when sitting on the slots meaning they come off whenever I press on one side of the space bar
