This is silly! I predict:

680: which will be the bestest one.
670 a little bit slower (but much cheaper) these will be the top tier cards unless production gets screwed up then we will get a 665. Or if AMD changes prices/gives us something else in the same range we will get a 675 to plug the market gap.
660, which is the top of the mid range.
Then knock off tens untill we get to
620 Cheapest consumer model.
610 which will be OEM only.

Then later there shall be a 690 which will be two cores facing up and down (central PSB) and then EVGA will do a dual 660 card about the same time the 700 series come out. ASUS will make a mars card a bit before with dual 680s because the 690 was really 670s. There will be DirectCU and twin frozr models, and probably factory watercooled 680s, then some weird cooler models from zotac/pny...:p

the whole XX5 number thing is a dead horse(otherwise they would of used it with the stupid GTX 560TI 448 core or what ever the hell its called), they will just release it as a completely new series instead, why? because its more money to scavenge off the idiot fanboys that will buy anything new. it sure worked with the GTX 500 series when they could of just named them the GTX 485, 475, 465 (oh wait that was used already by a failure of a card).

It is simple math, really...

GDDR5 ICs currently come as 32-bit modules, so: 244 / 32 = 7!

Depending on whether Nvidia uses 1Gbit (128MB) or 2Gbit (256MB) ICs, 7 chips = 896MB or 1792MB.
 
It wouldn't make much sense because of the expected power of the 224bit part to pair it with 896MB, it would be too little, and 1792 would be too much taking into account that it should be more powerful or on par at the very least than a 460. Still given the chance between those two the 1792 would be the best option.


Also using 32bit modules is inherently less efficient, i won't discard the possibility entirely but again, i don't think that Nvidia would prefer to deal with twice the ammount of modules because they couldn't create a better "standard" controller.

Even though these are 224-bit GDDR5, remember that the GTX275 used 448-bit GDDR3 with 896MB. It all comes down to price, which more than likely, Nvidia will make a 896MB GTX650/660, or they can use 4 1Gb chips and 3 2Gb chips for 1280MB.

I'm not sure anyone is currently producing 4+Gbps GDDR5 chips with a 64-bit data bus.

EDIT: One thing to wonder is whether or not Nvidia is paying the same price for GDDR5 as AMD, even if Nvidia has cards with the same capacity, they usually go with slower memory.

Nvidia has issues with the memory controller on their cards at least since the 4xx series, that is why they clock the memory slower.

I just hoped that they would have fixed the controller vs AMD for this new iteration.
