Apparently the devs for KlondikeCoin have capitulated to the speculators and will be forking the coin to drastically lower the block reward in order to attempt to bolster the price per coin for KlondikeCoin.

No, this isn't a thinly veiled attempt to get you all to hit my pool and mine it or something, and as always be very, VERY careful if you care to speculate or invest in the coin based on this information.

I bring you all this information mostly because I opened the KDC pool and some of you all did mine it when I opened it up, so some of you may be holding on to some KDC. Keep an eye open for a possible price adjustment on the markets.

Been hanging onto a nice stash of them, Think I'll sit on them a while and see what happens.

The fork is officially scheduled for Sunday.

Block reward will be going from 77 coins to 16 coins, then a month from Sunday it will be halved again to 8 coins.

I would suggest hopping on my pool, but I can't give a link for it since it's apparently against the rules. :|

Threw a dual 290 rig at it for fun. May add more later.

SunnyD,
PM me your pool address/port... I'll throw what I have at it... my luck tonight is infuriating.

Maybe some KDC will help.

Tried CACH... it's gonna take me too long to reconfigure all my miners at once. I need to read up on scrypt-jane.
Then tried Blackcoin... BAH.. the pool I'm connected to keeps disconnecting my miners and they keep failing over from one stratum server to the next... they can't even build up any hash power. To top things off, the diff on it when I started mining it about half an hour ago was half what it is now.
My fallback Hash.so is having frontend issues and I can't even load some of the pages properly.... so I need a pool.

I got 10Mh waiting to do something... sooner you get me your pool, sooner they'll be there.

EDIT: Nvm... Hash.so fixed their shit... I'm on their KDC pool right now. But if you send me your pool address/port still I'll still hit it with a couple miners. I'm sorry, I seem to have forgotten the address.

Yeah I've had 3 pools, mining different coins, all go down within hours of each other for different reasons. One was DDoS'd, another had an SSD go down and took the hosting company nearly 30 hours to replace it and the third was having performance issues.

I've been lucky, the only issues so far I've ran into on my pools were self-inflicted.

^this. SunnyD's pools have had more uptime than any other pool provider I've used. Which makes my fallback pools unhappy, but oh well :D

Thanks for the kind words. Hell, even with the AKC launch the pool handled a ton of traffic quite well, which amazed me.

I've also been quite pleased with the luck of your pool (finding more blocks than it "should" given its hash rates). KDC is currently at 88% for the past 24 hours meaning we've been finding more KDC blocks than our hash rate suggests we should :D

It's probably trying to make up for the terrible AKC launch.

Crap! I had put my KDC on Coined Up at what I thought was a high price, 0.00005BTC, in anticipation it might bump near the fork.
Checked in today and noticed I had some BTC in the bank I did not remember having there.
Dang if KDC didn't jump above my "high" number long enough to sell.
It's been oscillating around/below 0.00004 for a while so I never imagined it would sell this early.
Nice! But now I need to mine some more just to see if the bump comes along......again :)

Bitcointalk thread says:

Mandatory update!

Please download the new wallet and update any services you run!

Hmmm thought about mining this coin before. I will point my miners to KDC until the fork, see what happens.

Right now showing around 720 coins per day with around 3000-3200 kh/s

The pool has been updated as of last night and is running the updated coin daemon. Make sure you update your wallets.

10%

Seriously guys... 10% of the total nethash? Ya'll are crazy.

Anyway, it looks like about 3000 blocks left before the fork.

Got a big boy on the pool now. Over 23MH/s.
And KDC has risen above 5140 on Coined Up!
I set my price at 7000 this time instead of 5000, just in case :)
And I'll be watching pretty closely.

You'll like this...

That big boy is a fellow over at AnandTech, who just got into mining last month, and that's only ONE of his mining racks.

I'm not shitting you.

So is the fork set for a specific time or is it a specific block number (85000 perhaps)? Forgive me if that sounds like a noob question.

Just trying to juggle my hash power amongst a couple different coins that have events so close together. KDC with its fork, Blackcoin with the PoW stoppage at block 10000, Zeitcoin with its release in about 10 minutes (as of the time I write this), etc.

Announcement is on the front page of Sunny's pool:

KlondikeCoin has a mandatory fork announced @ block 84576.

Sigh! Got setup with ~1mh/s on this coin today and my power goes out leaving only my 270 at work still going!

Oops.. I guess I missed that. Was more interested in signing up and getting my miners working on his pool first rather than reading the news. :D

Looks like the price spiked some over night.
My order at 5500 sold but not the one I had set at 6000.

It goes up enough it could land on cryptsy. That's when I'll likely sell

Price hasn't spiked much, if any.
Though it has been pretty steady above 4000.

Ugh. Was wondering why the 1500+ KDC I sent to CoinedUp wasn't showing up...

Hope this mess gets sorted out and my coins reappear.
