Just recieved E8400 need some help..

I am so confused, I have been reading all the info here but dont know which way to go.
1.I want to overclock
2.I dont care about raid

Most of the P35 boards will play nice with the new 45nm processors. If you don't need RAID then I would recommend the Gigabyte DS3L. If you need more than 4 SATA ports, I would nab the DS3R.

Not only does the mobo I am going to link support OC'd speeds of 1600FSB+ for the cpu and 1200+ for the RAM it doesn't need a bios update to support the E8400 wolfdale(which is why I choose it for my build in a week). The Gigabyte EP35-DS3R for $133, $8 shipping. Also has the good ICH9R south bridge(R standing for Raid ofc).

Sirius, yes the GA-EP35-DS3R does support DDR2-800, 1066, and 1200mhz(OC'd) ram.
