I fell into the Opty hype and went ahead and ordered myself a holiday present; Opteron 170 :D

Err...then I got greedy and threw in an eVGA 7800GTX and 2gb Mushkin Extreme PC4000.

I really have to stop reading in these forums...its corrupting my spending habits :p

So...I'm expecting a moderate overclock in my SN25P, nothing spectacular but I know that the added gig will be a welcome addition along with my SINGLE slot cooling 7800GTX :)

Yeah, in a Shuttle you might have to keep the voltage regulated to maybe 1.4V max because there is a 10C difference for me when I jump my dual core Opty from 1.4V to 1.5V on an XP-90. Even so, you should be able to get 2.6Ghz with 1.4V.

Damn fast reply :)

Anyways, even if it does only hit 2.4ghz...I'll be satisfied. I could barely get anything out of my 4000+ (which is now going into another comp). I'll watch the temps for a few days, let AS5 go threw its break-in period. I'm excited to see how the Mushkin RAM works out for me...first time I've purchased the Mush :D...kinda makes me wish I consulted with eclipse before buying but...oh well.

Ahh....computers own my life...

How is that shuttle? I'm thinking of getting either one of those or the TForce mATX board and a cube case Aria or Q-pack or whatever it is.

I like the shuttle alot. Its attractive but it runs pretty damn hot. Hard drive cooling isn't the greatest but I've had 0 problems with it so far.

Head over to the HTPC forum and check what most people recommend. You could go the Qpack route, as most like to have more area to work with. I made my decision based on the scarce supply of quality mATX boards.

I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars overall though...
