Alright, I wanna give a shout to Danny, and all of you who helped me with putting together my build. I had a budget of 1000, but decided to up it a little bit, and settled on the following components.
Intel i5-2500K
CoolerMaster H212+ HSF
Arctic Silver 5
MSI P67-GD65 Mobo
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 (on sale for $75 today @ newegg)
XFX HD-695X-ZDDC (not NFC) 6950 1GB card (OC'd and more reliable than the std 6950)
Corsair 650TX v2 PSU
Crucial C300 64GB SSD
Samsung 1TB Spinpoint F3 SATA
LITEON SATA DVD Burner
That totaled me up at $1130 shipped.
I got the gfx card and memory from Newegg (taxable unfortunately) because Amazon doesnt have shit worth of 6950 1gig cards. That XFX runs 50mhz higher than the regular XFX 6950, and got 5 star reviews across the board, whereas the ZNFC model got horrible reviews. The memory was also on sale for the Memorial day sale @ $20 off.
I haven't decided on a case yet, but I'm gonna see what I can do with my Antec Sonata case. It's old, but I think it might be able to get the job done. If temps get to high, I'll swing by Best Buy and pick up a HAF 922 case to replace it. OR, I might break out the dremel and see what I can do with the Sonata.
Thanks again, and I'll post pics and thoughts after I build this beast. Now the tough part: WAITING!
