Just ordered a E8400...

you might not SEE a difference btween 80 and 100 fps ... but you will definately experience and feel a muchhh more smoothly game.

I'm aiming at an e8400 too to pair it with a 9600gt .. all I play is CSS ... and my x2 4200+ @ 2.6ghz is a real bottleneck for my 9600gt .. i get same fps with this 9600gt that i get with my 6800 ...

so yes, im ready to move on i think ...

btw, all of you that are getting nice oc's at around 1.4V and 1.38 v etc etc .. is this whats set in bios ? or what you read in windows?

please post your volts in bios.what you set in bios

I can feel a difference between 30 and 60, but I cant feel or see any difference between 80 and 100, neither can anyone of my friends who are PC gamers. I haven't played any games on your monitor through your eyes, so to each their own.

I am currently waiting for the E7200's. 1066 and 45nm for $133 should equal 3.6 at 400fsb :D

there are no true 120hz LCDs and there never will be.

sure there are, they just dont accept 120hz signals. they take a 60hrz signal and either use black frame insertion or motion compensation frame conversion. 120hz LCDs are great for usage in home theater.

just got my e8400 into today with my abit ip35pro

this isn't proof or anything much, just wanted to see 4.0 before i go to bed(work tomorrow)

tomorrow after work, il run prime95 for a few hours and make sure everythings stable, don't even have my ac on either, and my room is like 75 degrees lol. oh and that's on a zalman 9700

Had mine for about a month. Running at 3.8gz >1.27v ../24/7. It will go faster. I am using the DFI UT P35..I hope this a picture of things to come.
Congrats;)

Been running mine at 4.4ghz at 1.46volts...something (one setting behind the 1.475) on a lapped tuniq 24/7 and temps never gets over 60. On a evga 680i w/ xfx p32 bios and 4 gb of Crucial Tracer ram at 4-3-3-4 @ 989mhz. Been running smooth and stable thus far and is by far the best cpu I have ever owned. I was at 4.5ghz at 1.5v but figure 100mhz is not much to be running at 1.5 24/7. It has booted at 4.8ghz on air b4 gets stuck when logging in to vista. Been wanting to upgrade to a q9450 but feel like it wont be much of an improvement for me and I would need a new mobo also.
