How does my setup look like? Prolly gonna put it all together this weekend.

E6400 Intel Core 2 Duo
ASUS P5B Deluxe Motherboard Wifi-AP Edition
G.Skill 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM
BFG 7900GTX Video Card
OCZ GameXStream 700W PSU
WD 36GB Raptor 10,000RPM HD
Barracuda 7200.7 200GB HD

Looks very nice. I was thinking along the same lines for processor and memory, but I probably won't be able to for a while. Post what you think when you get it up and running... ;)

I sure will, plan to build it this weekend if I get free time. Im a n00b here but I hope to up my post count and get more knowledge of computers and there parts from you guys.

everything but the 36g raptors...those are noisey and not all that fast anymore. I'd suggest getting something two barracudas instead. Annoying about those small & old raptors....but even though it's still old, I like the 74gb.

Yeah, I'd definitely get at least a 74Gb Raptor. That way you have plenty of room on your system drive for your games, etc. which is where you want them for the quick load times.

nice setup. the 700w psu is a bit overkill i think. 600w would be good. here in canada the price gap between 700w and 600w is 60$ so i dont think its worth it.

get rid of that 36gb raptor, its even slower than a 320gb seagate baracuda sata 2. and its about the same price.

Altought pretty neat system

Be sure you run 3dmark couple of times, those 7900GT and GTX are hit or miss. i ordered 3 7900GT from Evga, 1 7900GTX from MSI, 1 7900GT from Asus. 1 from evga was artifacting, 7900GTX from msi and 7900gt from asus too.

for ocing help go on xtremesystems.org, you should be able to push it to 3.1 - 3.4..

my max is 3.2 and im happy with this 1.1ghz ocing hehe
