Just Cause 4 was announced by Xbox yesterday. The game is developed by Avalanche Studios and Square Enix and has been slated to be released on December 4th this year. Square Enix does have a E3 press conference coming up in a couple of hours later today, so we might get some more insight. I know that we had many Just Cause 3 fan around here.

Trailer.

Welcome to Solis, a huge South American world home of conflict, oppression and extreme weather conditions. Just Cause 4 sees rogue hero Rico Rodriguez land in Solis to hunt down the truth about his past, at any costs. Strap into your wingsuit, equip your fully customizable grappling hook, and get ready to bring the thunder!

Loved 2, haven't even played 3 yet. Own it, but not played.

Let's see the backlog...

Tropico 4
Xcom2 (need to finish it)
Total War: Warhammer (finish!)
Doom

And that's just off the top of my head.

All I need is to be independently wealthy so I can game as much as I need to keep up with things. Someone want to help me out with that?

Had a good amount of fun with 3. Two of the three dlcs made massive changes to the gameplay (lightning gun and wingsuit jetpack) that I am glad I waited until later in the game to play. I know you could choose to not use the gun and disable the jetpack but really why would you. Looking forward to 4, probably a year after release so it has enough patches to approach late beta/gold stage equivalent of old games.

JC3 might be better than 2. Play it and enjoy! Tropico 4 is very fun for a handful of hours, but it loses it's luster fairly quick (I think I put 5 or 6 hours into my society and was endgame) and you know what Doom is.

Edit: It does look a whole lot like JC3, which is fine, but they need to add co-op! Blowing shit up with friends is more fun!

Pretty much this. I know multi was modded in with JC2 but it was never really all that great (took you an hour just to find anybody and then they'd kill you immediately). A co-op mode would definitely put the JC series over the top in my book.

I loved all the others. This looks to be just as awesome. I'm definitely in. I try to play the campaign for a while, but I get sidetracked and just go off and fuck shit up. It's just a great series.

Co-op mode would make it a 10.5/10.

Loved the previous ones, so I will definitely give this a go. Just playing through FC5 which reminds me a bit of the Just Cause games but doesn't have the jet pack wing suit :(:(

Yeah I went from jc3 to fc5 actually lol. I was thinking the grappling hook and suit felt a bit rip off like, but it operated differently and isn't nearly as useful in fc5 as it is in jc3.

I got Just Cause 2 for free with an Nvidia video card years ago.

Installed it to test it out. Didn't care for it.

Turns out I don't like hovering in the air a few feet above and behind the character I am playing in games.

It's like going through the entire game with an out of body experience. Not my thing. 1 out of 5 toasters.

I still fire up JC2 every now and then. I liked JC3. Since it has been a while since I played 3, maybe it is time to get the expansions and give them a try.

The games are extremely repetitious. There needs to be more realism to break the monotony. Wildlands feels more realistic and even that game is quite repetitious.

3 is 2...

It's kinda meh once you get bored of blowing stuff up and driving around the F1 car. Hopefully 4 is a bit more innovative.

I really disliked 3. Fun mechanics and all, but when it went all super tech, it got cartoon level stupid. The giant flying fortresses and space shit. Just lemme blow up real world shit. I found the game from from GTA silly to Saints row stupid.

found JC 2 to be very good but was disappointed with 3 (didn't play it more than 1 hour)

Will wait for the gameplay videos to show at Youtube before deciding whether or not to buy JC 4
