The courts have granted Intel an extra seven days to explain why it lost e-mails to a judge. AMD alleges that the missing e-mail could provide proof that Intel used anticompetitive practices to force companies to buy its products.

Intel has until April 17 to give the court an accounting of its document preservation problems and to propose a better solution for archiving future records, according to an order from Vincent Poppiti, the special master hearing negotiations of the case in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

So "Oops! We seemed to have lost it!" didn't fly, eh? :D

That's not what the article says. Intel has to explain the flaws in the system that caused the documents to be lost, and present a new system to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Perhaps one of their crap CPU's took a dump...

Intel...how pathetic

Do they think everyone is o stupid to to believe that it was an "accident?" The e-mails had damaging proof so they got rid of them knowing that nothing would happen to them at all. I tell you right now that the judge wont do shit to Intel at all for destruction of evidence. They got rid of the evidence and the case with AMD begins to go in their favor. Where is the bad for Intel in all of this?

Amazing. Why do I venture out of Genmay again? Third uneducated person in the last 30 seconds that I've seen take a crap shot at Intel.

Wow, you need to lighten up before that blood vessel bulging from your forehead bursts and starts spewing out Core 2 Duos. :p

Intel honcho to other Intel honcho:

"We plan to fully comply with the warrant. We will hand them everything we have when the warrant is served"

Other Intel honcho (Crunching sounds in background):

"Understood. Everything we have when the warrant is served."

I doubt it's an accident at all. But it's just speculation at this point unfortunately. I mean, unless there's a printed copy of the e-mail, we'll never know what it says. So doesn't that fall under "allegedly"?

My emails at work are automatically purged if they exceed 30 days. The only ones that survive are the ones are archive on my local storage. As for these I only keep information that I find to be of value.

These are emails they were specifically instructed not to destroy. There was even court monitors who were supposed to be watching for this type of thing. I wonder if any of them court monitors bough themselves new cars or houses recently?

Is your personal mail file the only place on the server your e-mails are kept? This is not an assumption I would make nowadays. Sarbanes-Oxley and all...

I thought this was an attempt at being funny, then I re-read it. Nope, it seems this is the actual viewpoint.

Of course its humor...For cryin' out loud.

I didn't realize Intel heros were such a delicate crowd.
