A show called "House of Cars" on Netflix starring Jeremy Clarkson and company? Yes please!

Netflix, the US video-on-demand service, and ITV remain the two most likely places Clarkson and his pals, James May, Richard Hammond and executive producer Andy Wilman will end up. BBC2, meanwhile, is busy coming up with an entirely new lineup.

Nice. As an added bonus, being Netflix, they'll likely release an entire season at a time. :D

Netflix is really sticking it to everyone else. They are really a good alternative to the old style of TV. Watch what you want, when you want, how you want for a lot less than traditional TV. Even when prices do go up, the value is still pretty good. I've by far gotten my moneys worth the past few years.

I never understood the allure of this show. I did pick up on the dry British humor from time to time.

Irregardless, a very popular show.

Netflix was always one of the more ideal options for whatever Top Gear but not Top Gear came along.

It will be watched by pretty much every top gear fan cause of those 3 being there.

Is it just me or is Netflix the best thing to hit the Internet since porn?

I read that Richard/James might run into issues with a non compete clause (since they left rather than getting fired like Jeremy), so we might have to wait a bit. Unless the non compete is only in the UK.

Yeah, Netflix is a US based company, so I'm sure there's some loopholes there. Would have to see their contract, might require them "moving" out of the UK for a time.

Overall I think Netflix is an ideal avenue for this. It would also free them from the "conditions" of broadcast TV which would allow more of their brand of humor to come out. I think the biggest challenge would be working out deals with the high end auto manufacturers.

Clarkson's contact was ending after this season, most likely May and Hammond were as well. The non compete won't apply if so.

I am sure that part of non-compete can be wrote to extent Past the if they don't renew. I know a lot of courts have in the US killed cases of companies that sued ex-employee's over those clauses as they are complete BS.

As someone that has been watching TG since before the re-launch with Clarkson, Hammond, Jason Dawe & May I'd really look forward to this.

The show was most likely going to end it's run in a few years anyway so I'd wonder how long Netflix could keep them there. Hopefully they win out over ITV.

I hope not, because if they picked them up it would be even longer before we got something to watch.

I don't know if Netflix will pick them up but I hope they do. I loved the show, but they would need all 3, people can say what they want about Jeremy Clarkson, but without the other two, he is just an asshole, you need all 3 to make the show, otherwise it is just not the same. I also wonder how long they plan on doing the show if it is picked up with someone else, and who they would end up replacing them with as they retire. I would like to see what the show would be like without the restrictions, but I also don't want the show to become "adult" only, I like the darker and witty jokes about things, but still has an overall clean nature about it.

Oh god I hope that Netflix picks them up. I love that show and I already subscribe to Netflix.

Technically non-competes are a part of an employment contract and enforcing anything past the end of employment with an employment contract isn't legally enforceable, despite what people may say.

I doubt it'll happen, as much as I want it to.

Plus, I seriously doubt there is any truth to this. The day Clarkson was "fired" people were making "House of Cars" posters with the Chili flag rather than the US Flag.

I really hope this happens. I'd like to see more outlandish adventures like the Vietnam special

That special is still the high point of the show for me. Some of the others were good too, but it was getting progressively more lazy and contrived in recent years (as opposed to contrived but well-produced).

But if the three of them do a new show, I'll be watching. Just give me lots of exotic supercars, road trips and "projects" like when they built the electric car, and less of the "Clarkson fawning over whichever tedious celebrity is whoring a new movie that week".

BBC= Bloody Bad Company.

BBCA has become useless. We have a Brittish channel that now shows us mostly re-runs of American Television. LOL

Where's all the great science fiction and car stuff we used to get?

It's a wasted channel slot.

Technically, Jeremy Clarkson fucked up, but I'll digress...

I wouldn't mind seeing something like this on Netflix, and would definitely watch it.

That guy should have gotten him his steak dinner, or had something arraigned ahead of time.

Granted Clarkson was acting like a spoiled brat. It should never have come to his dismissal.

BBC was just looking for an excuse to can him.

If it comes to Netflix I will be ordering Netflix.

I hope this happens as I enjoy watching the three of them. If the American top gear is any indication a recast British once will be dismal. I wanted to like the American one, but it's just bad.

top gear is a ridiculously stupid show but in a funny way. They did one show where they dragged a log behind the tires of a car so it would not roll back on a hill. Anyway it wound up going through the rear window. And the show with the invincible toyota truck was pretty epic.

i didnt think it was that bad, go back and watch season 1 of top gear to compare.
