He didn't get in trouble for not twittering, he got in trouble for inciting a mob and creating violence. The police OFFERED him an easy way out and he chose not to take it.

Claiming he was sent to jail for not twittering is no different then claiming someone was imprisoned for not accepting a plea bargain, while completely ignoring the reason that were being offered the bargain in the first place.

They didn't charge him with a crime related to previous twittering though. A plea bargain is for when you've done something actually criminal (which this guy didn't, and even the police admit that part), and they offer you an alternative. This guy had done nothing, THEN got arrested for NOT twittering.

His PRESENCE caused girls to go to the mall, then kids being kids they started pushing each other. When he didn't use twitter to disperse the girls they arrested his label's VP for 'obstructing government administration'.

This was not the equivalent of a plea bargain seeing as how he hadn't committed any crime by just being there.

Even the police clearly state the only 'crime' he committed was being silent when they told him to say something.

"In an interview on WBLI 106.1-FM at 7 p.m., Bieber talked about the scene at the mall. "It was so crazy that I couldn't get to even come into the building," the singer said. "They [the authorities] basically threatened to put me in cuffs and send me away to jail.""

Also, the VP had already told staff to announce the event was cancelled BEFORE the police told him to use Twitter to say what they wanted.

Yes, I can. Why? It is not his job to keep the peace. It is the peace officer's jobs to do that. All this kid was responsible for was heading to the mall. If you want to know who is at fault, it is the girl's parents. Learn to place your blame out of logic and rational thought, not unjustifiable, emotional indignation at some kid star you despise out of the automatic jealously/hate that seems to run rampant here.

Placing the blame on kids would mean they are responsible for things, all of us that have been through a western education system know that is unpossible!!! It's obvious these kids have been brainwashed in something other than christianity, after all, why else would they riot if the singer didn't demand it.

probaly used failure to obey the lawful order of a police officer or somtimes worded failure to assist a law enforcement officer whenlalwfully instrcuted to do so.

every state i have worked in has had a law like this its rarely used (as far as I have seen) but its there incase say a officer needs help and you refuse it.. basically the officer would haev to articulate that by refusing this reasonable and doable request the man in question made the situation worse or allwed it to stay dangerous.

How is a twitter message supposed to stop 3000 hysteric teenage girls? The VP shouldn't have needed to do that, as that is not his job. His job is to manage his record label, and police's job is to keep the peace in an orderly fashion. Seems like police too lazy to do their job and put the blame on the record label exec.
