Ivy bridge doesnt support multiple gpus?

Uh. He had problems with X79, not ivy. This thread, and the thread you are linking to are hopelessly misleading.

Holy crap how are people SO STUPID to get X79 and Ivy Bridge confused? Ridiculous, and anyways theres people on this board with X79 and SLI/CF setups working just FINE.
 
It said it only effects some CPUs not all, on some chipsets, and then only on PCI3.0 it would still work fine on 2.0. The person who wrote that also said that the board hadn't had had a bios update since december. So that might be a factor, or those people are just silly.
