Computer randomly will start to lock up and do some weird audio thing where it is almost like a constant buzz or something, hard to explain.
Does not bsod to get an error code
Temps on the cpu never seem to go over 50c according to corsair link

Sent the board in for an rma as it shorted out, got it back completely built the system again, was good for a week, and it has started again.

It has no exact trigger, it will do it while the computer is sitting idle, or gaming, or watching anime, or netflix.
I tried the ram troubleshooting, and apparently fried my board and thats why i rma. I thought maybe the board was just having a short issue.
I have checked drivers and everything is upto date.
Before the rma i tested the mobo without the gpu, same issues.
I tested it roatating the ram, no diffrence
I tested everything out of the case, same thing.
I tested a diffferent psu with the same outcome.
I am at a total loss

I would appreciate any advice or ideas

Thanks,
V

Try different RAM
Try a different PSU
Try doing all of the testing outside of the PC.

Woops. forgot to put that; I did do testing outside of the case, I also did a different psu, I dont have different ram on hand to try that with.

If possible, try a different motherboard. I've had bad luck with AsRock boards.

My Asus Z97I-Plus ITX board has performed flawlessly, if you want a recommendation.

as much as i wish i could, i am a broke college student right now, but i will see if i can figure something out.

But that is unlikely and I need to keep looking for other options

Try a different CPU then.

guys I really do appreciate the ideas, but I mean i dont have a way to test out another cpu. I dont have the money to just buy one to troubleshoot with :( this is my only pc, and I dont have spare parts laying around. I borrowed a psu from my school. But i cant take a cpu

I really hope that didnt come off rude or anything.

I am frustrated with this situation along with my lack of being able to find a solution.

That's a pretty hi-end rig for a broke college student. ;)

Maybe sell your 780Ti and use the $$ to buy a new mobo and less powerful graphics card? Upgrade to a better card when you've got more money. Sux, I know, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

power supply is too small...

silverstone sfx 450w

if there is any variance with the 5v or 12v lines this is going to cause it to crash just like you are having. because you are pushing so much with so little...

It did this with a 600watt full size psu, that still isnt enough?

Yes it is, i used all my savings on it so i could have fun and play games with friends, my only entertainment.

Try a Linux live distro and see if the system freezes without the ssd plugged in.
