Wow, it's a flop side! Down with MOOSE!!!!!!
Well, you can't say GPU's don't out flop things already...
10 TFlops for only 142active clients = IMPRESSIVE

So hypothetically it could be about 8 times as fastATI's latest X1900 architecture (2/06) has a claimed performance of 554 GFLOPS

If you are folding for HFC, stick with the CPU...freeloader1969 said:Is it worth it to use the GPU client over a dual CPU setup? I'm thinking about power consumed and points production. Any thoughts?, please share them.

Net Gain using GPU = 372 ppd.
However, using p2412 the net gain falls to 125 ppd.
If you use 2D clocks, production on the GPU is 440 ppd and compared to a p2412 on one core the gain is only 25ppd.
If you were giving up folding a p1495 to run the GPU cli ent, you'd lose 352ppd at 2D clocks and 264 ppd at 3D clocks.
When you start looking at OC'd and high end Conroes, you're going negative if you devote a core to GPU folding.
I made one major investment to go the Conroe/X1950 XT route and while I won't regret it for the fantastically powerful computer I will have when finished building it, it looks like in the short term, I'll regret spending so much on a vid card far more powerful than my regular needs that provides little to no production boost on average.
Hopefully there is some balancing point where the CPU core can still make decent production AND feed the GPU so that it isn't crippled. I'm sure that if that point exists, someone will soon find it.
