Today really sucked. Mom called today, and yesterday Dad went to the Doctor for the schedualed recheck from the cancer surgery in November. Dad has another growth , the surgery and the chemo didn't work.

He got done with the chemo, and was finally begining to feel better and caught pnuemonia, just barely getting to where he can function again and they want to do surgery next Wednesday. He wants to wait until he recovers a little more but the Doc say's no, need to do it now.

They are coming down for the weekend and I will be running them around for tests and stuff, Must be fairly urgent if they are testing on the weekend. Since they don't want to wait until the pnuemonia is totally gone, This doesn't look good.

They want to do the surgery on his 73rd birthday, what a present.

We are praying for you and your dad. Hope everything works out in the end. :)

Ciao for now .......

My prayers are with you and your family.

Think good thoughts and spread the love.

Good luck to you and your father.
Our thoughts will be with you and yours.

Thanks xENo!!!

Hang in there and best of possibilities,
been there, done that, partially why I'm here.

my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family in this trying time!

stay positve i know it is difficult but sometimes a good/strong positive attitude around the person in need can really help.

God bless!

Sorry to hear that.My grandfather is being treated with chemo right now. Stay stong and fold on!

Try to stay strong and positive, my ex-g/f's mom is battling end stage colon cancer, my mom has fought breast cancer, and my dad's side of the family is cancer prone, attitude seems to help a lot.

hang in there. My mom made it through breast cancer and your dad will make it too.
good luck
"Life is to short" my mom

Praying for you man. Hope it works out for you all.

You and you'res, added to an unfortunately ever growing prayer list. Pastor becoming concerned. Continued on page 3, got me a little talking to last week. I was just beginning to recover from the pneumonia that had taken my voice for 2 weeks. I hope you're dad recovers more from the pneumonia, before they cut. Get a pint of whiskey in him, add 2 or 3 extra blankets, and sweat some of it out of him. I didn't begin to recover, till I'd soaked all my linens 3 days in a row. Be very concerned. I've lost more family to pneumonia than cancer.

Update,

The doc decided to wait until the pnumonia was over before surgery, so they didn't cut today, That was a good birthday present for dad, today he turned 73, they are going to wait until the 13th of next month to cut again. He should be a lot healthier by then.

He's going to visit his newest great grand son, this weekend, that is making his attitude alot better, and hopefully his newest great grand daughter will be born by the surgry date so he will be in very good spirits.

He's over the shock of the cancer being back, and looking forward to the summer with the grand kids and the great grand kids. This is the first positive outlook he has had since they first found the cancer in November.

Go with prayers,
all life ends, the game is to put it off as long as possible.
that's why a lot of us are here.

I'm glad your dad got to wait until he's healthier before they do the surgery. I hope he comes through it just fine.

I found out a while back that my aunt that seemed to have breast cancer beat has had cancer come back. This time it's by her pelvis and she's going through chemo again. She is doing well, though.

good luck. i'm glad he got to hear news of his grandchildren and gets to see them, hopefully that will keep his spirits up.

much love man.

UPDATE; 4/13/05

Took Dad in at 5:00 this morning for the second surgery, they kept him there for ten hours and Picked him up an hour and a half ago, they kept him a lot longer than last time, but they are going to check him out mid morning tomorrow and hopefully he can go home, instead of having to stay here a couple more days here in the valley.

Everything looks good and he won't have to do chemo this time.

A very long day, but it's looking better.

That's good news. I hope everything works out fine this time for him. It would definitely be nice to have some really good news after everything that has been happening.
