Great !
Got some nice new hardware in to refresh some 4yr old graphics servers and of course..the manager loves his colors. LOL

SuperMicro servers

Blue machines are for one purpose, Orange ones are for another purpose...makes it super easy to spot your machines in any data centers doesnt it!

(2) Xeon E5620, Supermicro X8DTU, 6GB DDR3, Quadro FX3800, AJA Kona HD card, 2x Raptor 150's in Raid1

*gasp* running XP, but migrating to W7 64bit

(side note I should take a pic of the 50 DL160-G6 servers that came in to replace 7 yr old generic built machines that are still running 24x7x365...also running XP ( )

Well, they are Auburn colors. :D What are they being used for (max? maya? xsi?)? The specs are pretty nice for renderfarm stations.

Blue boxes run the ESPN Bottomlines and side Rundowns (4 machines per network....SD/HD and a backup for each), Orange boxes are to run VIZrt for on screen graphics (headshots, stats, stuff like that)
There are a few one offs with Tesla 4000 cards and some others with Nvidia SDI outputs (the touchscreens the talent use are Nvidia SDI outputs)
Yes, thats my storage closet, I have my camera with me tonight....Ill snap a pic of my racks in the DC, they are fairly neat

Do they also tie three knots in the psu cables for extra lightning surge protection? Or beads? I've seen a lot of them do it

Well they are workstation machines, but they 'serve' graphics, so we call them servers.
They are running XP because the new version of VizRT software that runs on W7 64bit isnt finished with our testing, and we havent finished building the new rundown/bottomline app in .Net for 64bit W7.
(suprised no one mentioned Mets colors)

Here are the racks in one building (2 separate rooms), there are 3 other rooms I have machines in as well.North
South
