My idle temp ( running 2.66MhZ) 55c - 60c.. 100% cpu 68c - 73c..
when running 3.33 MhZ idle temp 58c - 69c.. 100% cpu 72c - 80c

I have both sides removed on the cabinet so i think the air flow should be ok ????

i've tryed too redoo the scythe ninja,, but with same result ????

What can i do??????

E6700 2.66 mhz (running 3.33 mhz)
P5B deluxe wifi
corsair ddr2 pc 6400 800 mhz 2x1024mb
scythe ninja w/ as5

what software are you measuring the temps with and what procedure are you using when you redo the heatsink.

I agree those temps look awfull warm compared to most I have seen, the stock temps in particular.

What thermal paste are you using ? oh as5, did you follow EXACTLY the instructions on AS5's website ?

in short need a lot more details about that heatsink mounting, every little thing you did when you installed it. Did you check the heatsink base for flatness, those perform well, perhaps you got one with a warped base and its not contacting the cpu properly. etc. etc. etc.

when you pulled it off the first time did you check the "footprint" of the cpu impressed on the bottom of the heatsink ? How did it look ?

have you checked those temps from bios or with some program like smartguardian.
some times mobo temp sensors dont give correct readings, my late deceaced asus a8v deluxe had this proplem. then again those high tems might be caused by poor contact between your chip and heatsink .

Please back down your overclock till you know for sure what your temperatures are. If you're loading at 80c... you most likely have a problem.

NO, those temps aren't normal at all. I'd say given stock cooling you should be 40's for idle at the very least.

Did you by any chance forget to remove the film from the bottom of the Ninja?

I startet over again,,,

Now my idle is 48c - 50c load 60c - 63c running 3,4 MhZ

I hope this is ok i did everything written on this board...

What voltages are you running it at, heat produced doesn't increase by running the cpu at faster speeds but turning up the voltage. You generaly have to turn up the vlotage to achieve higher overclocks but. Check what your voltage is. core 2 shouldn't be running that high, i got a 3800+ on 1.37v and idle at mid 20's load at high 20's low 30's, but im on water.

Chrise, what's your ambient temperature?

OP. That's still too high. As Chrise said, voltage has a huge effect on the temperature of your processor. Make sure it's running at the right level. Download CPUz and read what it says for the Vcore option.

Also, in Speedfan, what are the values for your fan RPM's?

60c is... is fine, but it's not good for an overclock. I would expect major instability at that temp with anything over 10% normal speed.

Heat does increase linearly with clockspeed, even without exra voltage... btw.

Fix your comp stock i was getting around 32-35c in my 'warm' room. Zalman 9500 AS5

in my warm room 3.35Ghz starts at around 44c abd never goes above 54c during CS or while doing lots of things at once. But on load i with 2 prime 95 on max heat i get 65-67c
