Would this PSU:
Link

be enough to power my future PC:

CPU: Q6600 @ 3ghz
RAM: 6gb 800mhz (3 x 2gb)
GPU: 2 x ATI 4850 (possibly 4870)
MB : Asus P5Q-E
HDD: 2 x SATA (not sure what make)

Thanks in advance,

Will

No, dont know the brand, I recommend a real one like a Corsair, cant go wrong with it :D

i really doubt that, 1000W for only 30 pounds?? hehehe no way

just get a Corsair 750 watt psu and you will still have headroom even with dual 4870 in that system. also buying two 4870 cards would be silly when you can get the 4870x2. that system with 4870x2 would pull about 450watts. http://techreport.com/articles.x/15293/10

btw dont run 3x2 gb because you cant do dual channel memory like that.

Yeah, that PSU seems way too shady: No info on the manufacturer, no info on the combined output of the +12V rails, no info on the actual maker of the PSU, no testing, etc. Too much unknowns and at that price, that's definitely multiple red flags there.

I have now decided to go with:

GPU: ATI HD4870X2 (2GB)
RAM: 8gb 800mhz (4x2gb)

and PSU:
Link

Thanks (again),
Will

This is SilverPower... apparently it's related to Tagan, which is a so-so brand. Not great but not bad either. I'd still go with Corsair for this price, though. They offer top-notch PSUs for ridiculously low prices. Can't go wrong with them.

Damn im a bad reader today.

Bit-tech reviewed that SilverPower unit today and it came out pretty good, so I'd say it's a decent choice. Definitely plenty for your rig.

You should just go with a Corsair and call it a day. Most reliable PSUs out with a ton of power.

he decided to go with Corsair. he is asking wether the 620 watt is enough or not for what he wants to build which includes 4870x2. is everybody confused in this thread or what? lol

Im sorry but i have read the thread a dozen times and see absolutely no indication he decided on anything.

The only time he has even mentioned corsair would be.

Will a Corsair 620W do or will I need 750W?

From,
Will

That dont sound like hes decided on anything.

I think your a little confused since yo keep making random assumptions.

Just to clear things up, I have decided to go with Corsair and would like to know what wattage you would recommend for HD4870X2 and possibly another HD4870(X2)

From Will

The TX750 would be sufficient for two 4870X2s. For a single X2, the HX520 or VX550 would be the minimum I'd suggest.
