Is this MoBo compatible?

We have 2 computers at the office that display nothing when turned on. The onboard VGA port shows nothing, and an add on PCIe graphics card doesn't display anything either. The motherboard powers on but just doesn't display anything. There are no beeps to tell me what the problem is and I can't see anything on the screen. I took the battery out to clear the CMOS and still nothing. I believe the motherboard is dead but if someone has any other ideas please let me know. Now for my question....

After looking on NewEgg, they only have this motherboard with the 945 chipset. This motherboard has horrible reviews so I really would like to get something better. This is the only one I can find at newegg. TigerDirect has two 945G chipset motherboards but one is $90 (more than I am willing to spend to get this thing up and running again) and one doesn't have a PCI-E slot which is a problem since we have PCI-E video cards that we will be using with these computers. The current motherboard we have is a Foxconn 9457mc series but they are no longer manufactured. This board uses the i945GZ chipset. From what I was told, the P45/P55 chipset will work with this CPU but I really want to be sure before we buy anything. Will any other chipsets work with this CPU or am I stuck to using P45/P55 or the 945G. Are these the same chipsets? I can't find anything about what chipsets this CPU will work with.

CPU Specs:

352 Celeron D 3.2GHz
Socket LGA 775

There are tons of G31 chipset boards on newegg. This one in particular I was looking at because the layout is almost identical to the board we have. I am only concerned that my Celeron D will not work with it even though it says it does. I was told by the company we bought these computers from that I have to get a P45/P55 chipset for this CPU to work with the new motherboard. If he was feeding me B.S. then if someone could reassure me that this board will work as well as any other G31 chipset board that it will work then that's all I need to know.

Thanks for all the help.

Support for older Pentium 4 based CPUs with modern motherboards depends on the board itself and not really on the chipset. Any board on Newegg that specifically lists compatibility with Pentium 4 and Pentium D CPUs will be compatible with your chip (make sure it's Pentium 4 or D; Pentium Dual-Core support does not include older CPUs, and neither does support for newer Celerons, since both are actually just rebadged Core 2 processors). The Foxconn board you found should work fine.

I would recommend this Intel board for your situation: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121323

Thanks for the reply and clearing this up for me. I am probably going to get something a little cheaper. That board looks good by the reviews but I was hoping to spend a little less if possible. I will look and follow your advice.

Thanks again!
