Is this a decent upgrade?

Hey guys! I'm planning on upgrading my PC soon. My current rig is in my signature. I'm going to sell the components I have now that I want to upgrade to a friend. Here's the plan:

e6600 @ 3.6ghz w/ Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme --> Core i7 920 @ (>?)3.6ghz w/ TRUE
eVGA 8800GTX --> eVGA GTX 285
eVGA 680i SLI --> eVGA X58
2GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer --> 6GB Corsair Dominator
And add a 1.5 TB Seagate Barracuda

What does this look like to you guys? Do you have any suggestions? Anything new that's coming out soon that I should keep on the lookout for? Thanks in advance!

Edit: I think what I'm going to do is wait until early May to do this. I'm going away next month so it'd be pretty worthless to have a bunch of hardware to play with for only a month. Is there anything that we know of that's coming out between now and early May that I should know about? Would it just be a good idea to get it all now? What's this rumor I'm hearing about new ATI cards?

- The Dominator RAM are over-priced and overkill considering that you can get similar specced RAM for significantly less:
G.Skill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ 3 x 2GB DDR3 1600 RAM - $110

- What PSU do you have?

- You do know about the firmware problems that Seagate is having now right?

Ditch the dominators and the seagate. Dominators are a waste of money since they're overpriced. Go for these instead:

$110 - G.SKILL 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3-1600, 8-8-8-21, 1.6V -1.65V, F3-12800CL8TU-6GBPI

Seagate has been having firmware issues. I wouldn't trust any of their 11th gen 'cudas. Go for the WD Caviar Black 1TB:

$120 - WD Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA300

btw, its only $110 @ amazon.

I had the G.Skills in mind as well. Sounds good.
My PSU is a Corsair HX620. I've calculated that it should be okay, is that correct?
And I thought that Seagate's firmware issues had been resolved? That was the whole fiasco with the intermittent freezing, yeah? I'll keep the WD in mind though, enginurd. Thanks again, both of you.

The Corsair 620HX will be enough. As for the firmware issues, most of them have been resolved but there's still that chance A) getting one of the 1.5TB drives with the firmware problem and B) the bloody drive dying as a result of updating the firmware.

Ugh, is it HX620 or 620HX? I've seen both! :-P

And good point. I'll go with the WD unless I'm absolutely sure I'm not going to get a bad Seagate, whether that means waiting or whatever.

Either wording works actually. Doesn't really matter. I just like the "620HX" better since the numbers are first.

No, get it all later. Revisit this thread before buying, to make sure the recommendations haven't changed. Also note that the Caviar Black has a 5yr warranty where as the seagate is now only 3yrs.
