Is there such a thing as an external enclosure for a video card, like to use with a Asus Eee PC 1000H with Windows 7 32bit to make it run games and video better? I only have 1 gig of ram currently and use ready boost to help but it isn't enough to run neverwinter nights as it is. So I was wondering if there was anything i could use to make it run, even on lowest settings, it runs but very very jumpy.
 
I remember someone doing such a thing although it wasn't in an external enclosure they just left it standing up on a USB PCI-E card (not sure of the exact name) on their desk.

As for gains on an Eee PC I doubt a video card would help for such an underpowered system.
 
So you don't think that doing such a thing would benefit me at all? Is there anything that I could do to help performance?
 
Your Eee PC is a 1.6 Ghz single core with 1GB of RAM I wouldn't expect a video card to do much other than be completely bottle necked by your system.

If you had a decently powered laptop like the above link then I could see some use of it.
 
well, it 'might' be worth it for some older games. Anything older than 2004-ish would probably run pretty decent on a atom processor. Hell, I had warcraft 3 running on my old dell mini 9. If the onboard video had more grunt, I probably could of run it at max


however, you're better off just buying a cheap old desktop if that's the case.
