Is there a minimum age for Xbox Live?

Just asking, is there a minimum age for Xbox Live Gold? For the owner, the person who's name is on the account.

I want to make a new gamertag, so I can use my Hotmail on the 360 for messenger, but the age thing might prove a problem. If there is one, and I don't meet it, then I'll wait. If there isn't one, then that's good.

I don't believe there is an age restriction, but I wish to God there was.
 
Messenger Live requires an age of 18+. I'm not sure about xbl age restrictions, but I thought it was 13 to sign up an account.

Yeah, I want to say I remember seeing 13 somewhere when I was going through the setup process a while back.
 
I think there's an age limit of 13 required to join online forums, perhaps that age limit carries over to all online communities.

COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) requires you to receive parental permission to collect any personal information (including email addys) from children under the age of 13.

Rather than deal with the hassles and hoopjumping necessary to comply with the law, many sites (like [H]) simply do not allow anyone under the age of 13 to register.

Don't worry, I'm a good person to play XBL with, I play tactically, and keep much of my chatter to game, such as recon, asking for backup, suppressing fire, flanking, etc. Honestly, there are people older than me who are immature, and I feel sometimes discriminated against by that.

Case in point, I used a tank in Halo 2 MP not as a tank, but as an artillery device, bombarding enemies so my team can get in close. College guy on my team starts bitching about how it's uninspired, and when he gets a chance later, grabs the tank, rushes, dies right away and the other team now has two tanks... We were screwed. Then that guy started bitching about how we were making his rank go down.

I didn't play again for a very long time.
