All of a sudden I can't seem to get any GPU blocks? Anyone else having problems?

Nevermind, I don't get it, I restarted like 3 times, then I restart again and it starts working.

Lots of server problems today. Wish they would invest in there infrastructure.

I managed to get a WU after an hour of trying, I've got 3 or 4 to send still that won't go.

I just managed to send one that had been sitting for a while. I also noticed that I had a bit of trouble getting some work earlier. This is SOP for Stanford, though.

Truth. It just happened on a Friday, instead of the usual Saturday for once.

Had trouble for a couple of hours with my clients also...SOP for Stanford.

It's even hitting the smaller folders like me, I have two GPU's out of work. ATM I'm doing a LinSMP on my E6600 and couple of CPU WCG clients on my two Q6600's :(

Come on Stanford, get the "lead" out

Folding and WCGing for a CURE

It is unfortunately a common occurrence. It happens just about every weekend and there is NOTHING we can do about it.

I have work, and the GPUs are a folding...... and I think the lights a a bit dimmer too :p

At first I thought there might be something wrong on my end... sad to see this weekend off to a bad start.

I just noticed my SMP clients won't send. Stop and restart the client at least you will have a work unit folding and it will eventualy upload.

Dear VJ........aww hell, been down this road before;)

Same here, my 4 Linux SMP clients is starving for work now :(

I'm starting to get fed up with their chronic inability to have the servers up 100%. It's a good thing they are not in charge of mission-critial servers because they would be fired so [H]ard their asses will get hurt like [H]ell !!

Is it that hard to get a back up server that might no be anywhere near as fast, but can get WU out to some ppl when the main one goes down?

I would donate some hardware if I knew Stanford could make actual good use of it. It's getting ridiculous but it is the weekend and the growing number of GPU clients isn't making it any easier on their infrastructure.

Very simple : No foresight for future expansion and worst management ever

Why don't they take a computer or two off of the regular client, which seems to have a ZILLION servers, and put them onto the GPU client. It makes sense to me.

Is the GPU server still down? I'm away for the weekend and noticed my points dropped to just my PS3/Standards today (SMP had just started a 2665 on the 4800 when I left), so I don't really know if my GPU rig just shut itself off or not.

Damn man, now you are starting to sound like me;):p

Same here. Stuck on attempting to get work packet.
If only peoples lives depended on these results... oh wait...

Eh, the reality is just finally getting out. :p

I know they are bad with management and servers upkeeping but they know about the server problems and yet they always planned to let it slip...

I'm a old timer by now so I have the right to bitch :p

I'm a young'en, but.....

/shakes hand in anger

I left to go out of town for the weekend Friday whilst watching my GPU looking for work. That sucked. I wondered all weekend if it was picking up work. Ok, I really just wondered a couple times.

Would the storage at home project they were talking about help this type of situation any? I'd be willing to be a beta tester for that program. I have plenty of hard drive space...
