is an E5200 enough to play TF2?

it would be mated with an ASRock G31M-S and 4GB DDR2-800. it should do source games no problem right? i think the mobo should OC it to 3 or 3.2 or so, but i dont know anything about this cpu. im contemplating buying it with a bunch of other stuff in fs/ft so the combo price is attractive. thanks!

i have a lapped e5200 for sale. i ran it at 3.43ghz for about a year without a hitch. if i had a proper motherboard i probably could have o/ced it past 3.8ghz...

pm me if ur interested.

Absolutly yes. I played that on a system with a socket 478 2.4A with no issue.

That mobo has the infamous GMA3100 - which is based off of the GMA950

It will play some source games fine.

Google for the "Intel 9xx gaming" google group for some more help.

Should be just fine, especially considering you should be able to pull a pretty respectable overclock out of it :D

You should look at the Gigabyte P31-ES3G board as it seem to have alot of overclocking tools.. On the e5200 i have yet to find a game i can't run with it but mine runs at 3.9Ghz on air or water with 1.4v and 12.5x1240fsb so it's pretty dam quick for $65 and if you game at 1920 x 1080 it's going to matter more about your video card as i have it paired with a HD5850 and eyefinity..Crossfire/Sli would matter alot more with a bottleneck.

I run Dirt 2/COD 4/WaW /MW 2/ HawX at 5760 x 1080 and i am gpu limited in those games and i can even run the heaven benchmark in DX 11 in eyefinity and still pull 20.9fps at 5760 x1080 with this cpu..in DX 10 at 1920x1080 with 8xAA/16AF i get 30.8fps and most overclocked i7 920's/HD5870 get 34-35fps with the same settings which is only the diffrents between HD5850/5870 cards as the 5870 has higher clocks and alittle more shader power..

Of course..I have no problem with source games and im using a 3000+ Barton..playing at 1680 x 1050.
