iPhone 5 concept??

gb4ever, leave it to motorola to make a junk phone. Don't generalize Android phones because you've owned one made by the worst manufacturer of phones (imo). Samsung makes fantastic hardware, with an aftermarket ROM (akin to "jailbreaking" an iPhone) I am able to get nearly 2 days of idle time with my Samsung Galaxy phone, 30+ hours if I am texting and surfing the web all day. That's with wifi on too.

Most people I know that know anything about technology have an Android phone made by Samsung or HTC. All the kids have iPhones anymore.

Agreed, was thinking the same thing. Most of the early Verizon Droid phones were pure shit, and I read so many Apple guys that went that route, I guess before the iPhone was on Verizon ? And they complained left and right how bad Android was, and yes those phones did suck, buit other Android phones out at the time were much better; Nexus-One, Nexus-S, EVO 4G, etc...

The Galaxy SII is a year old, and still a very good Android phone, super fast, smooth, long lasting battery life, beautiful screen. In my opinion the S2 vs the first iPhone4, the S2 is a much better device. Now we have the Galaxy-Nexus with Android 4.0 ICS, and no question it is a better device compared to the 4S.

And the upcoming Galaxy S3 should be amazing, and is supposed to have 40% better battery life than the S2, which was already very good.

The 4S has double the web browsing battery life and triple the graphics performance. The CPUs are very close, Nexus is faster by its 200mhz. Android 4.0 is nice software wise, but I still prefer jail-broken iOS and the App Store.

I'm not trying to be a fanboy. I've used both platforms for awhile. Also, hard to argue with solid benchmarks from a reputable website.

Android seems to fit the [H]ard user better, we like to tinker with our software/hardware and overclock stuff, and have the ability to customize to our hearts desire. With the iPhone that is really not an option.

I am open to getting an iPhone again, if they #1 make a larger screen like 4.3"..#2 allow customizing...#3 add Widgets...

I have the galaxy note and iphone 4s and I keep coming back using the 4s because of the smoothness of the phone in every way. Galaxy note is not a push over phone and it pushed the maximum screen display of mobile phone.

The screen also is amazing and that's the only reason I would keep the Galaxy note. If I'm gonna wait for ICS to come to this phone, I'll be waiting for a very long time and that would be pointless for me to keep the phone since there will be a new android phone with ICS software before the Galaxy note even get it. I wish the galaxy note could run iOS software and I'll be happy camper Hoping the iPhone would increase the screen size to at least 4.0".

I also have a Samsung Galaxy tab 7.0 3G as well as wifi version and a cheap old coby kyros tablet which I upgraded to gingerbread. While the galaxy tabs are almost iphone level in the quality of experience, it still has its glitchiness, quirks and weirdness but as a accessory internet device thats ok its not mission critical like my phone is.

I base my reliability standards on my old samsung flip-phone, it crashed ONCE in 4 years of using it and thats because I dropped it and the memory stick flew out as well battery came partially loose, I never had a single issue with hangups, slowness, glitchiness or dialer problems.. it just worked it and it lasted all day on battery without a hitch. So far my iphone has given me the same experience so I see it as a spiritual successor in user experience to my old samsung flip-phone

Both my parents have a Samsung Galaxy S and I'm very surprised by now nice they are. I may give android another try down the road, but I can say I'm pretty happy with the iphone for reasons I stated in the last paragraph

seriously, this has to be the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard. You can't fault Apple's success when it reaches out to such a large demographic. I'm a PC user and a Google fanboy, but iOS just works. I've tried several Android devices and they all run like crap with mediocre battery life to boot.

Bigger? Yes. Too big, and I'm 6'3. A 4.0" phone is the perfect size, anything bigger is too big, and anything smaller is too small.

That's my bet. "The new iPhone" and "The new iPad" - which just means everyone will resort to bolting on a year like they do for the Macbook and such.

This concept looks like it would massively suck, which is why I wouldn't be surprised if Apple builds it. All of Apple's products *look* nice, but are horrendously bad to hold in actual use. "Ergonomics" simply doesn't exist in Apple's world. Probably why everyone puts their Apple products in a case - it's the only way to actually bear holding it in daily usage. -4G LTE
-New "micro dock" connector
-Similar screen size to current 4/4S models (3.5')

LTE is certainly no surprise since I think everyone would expect/want this feature. The new connector size is unlikely to be compatible with current accessories, but Apple has done this in the past so I don't think it's out of the question at all. Failure to jump to a massive 4+ inch screen is also not a surprise to me, as I think a lot of current iPhone fans would be turned off by this. Let's face it - Apple is not trying to steal customers from Samsung who would have otherwise purchased a Galaxy Note. You go with the iPhone because you like Apple's ecosystem, you have a lot of apps already and you like a phone that's easy to carry and use. I would put money on this report being fairly accurate.

For better or worse, I do agree Apple does not usually react to user opinion. They're more of the mindset, if you don't like it then don't buy it. Not that they have any problems getting people to buy their products Through a combination of actual features and technology, coupled with a gigantic marketing engine, they convince the world that it needs their products - whatever form they may take.

That said, I actually don't mind the 3.5" screen but I think it would be cool to see two screen sizes available in the future. A "small" iPhone with 3.5" screen and a "big brother" with a larger 4+ inch screen. This would keep both options available to suit both types of user preference. Only problem is that it would probably cause havoc for app developers who would have to contend with two display sizes of different resolution.
