Ipad 2 cases

I just nabbed a Zaggmate (the one without the keyboard) for my ipad 1.

I tried the iChair, and I found it to be a total piece of shit; the zaggmate, while not being a "case" as much as a carrying cover/stand is far better at being a stand...and will offer more protection than most cases, I suspect.

The Zaggmate only comes WITH a keyboard for the ipad 2 right now I think, but it's still a good case (with a logitech KB)

how do you like it so far? I'm thinking about getting one b/c it just seems like a perfect solution...

I put a little bit extra into a case that protects something of value like the iPad 2. I went with the Switcheasy Canvas http://www.switcheasy.com/products/CANVAS_iPad2/.

It fits like a glove and I cannot be happier with the case. It is absolutely perfect for my needs. I like the portfolio style that it has to it so I can easily carry around my iPad while not worrying about it being damaged.

So, I have not used the keyboard version - I have the iPad 1 version with no KB.

-The clamshell isn't that easy to get open. It takes some trying - this is good, in that it won't just fall out. But it IS foam - how long until it wears out?

-The protection seems fine, but don't think the case will let you drop it on pavement from very high up. The foam may help some, but it won't save you.

-The stand works well - and this is where it shines. portrait and landscape work well, and it's stable enough to type on....even type with a heavy hand. I sat it in my cube at work and watched movies on it while doing work one night - the stand worked well

Thoughts on the KB version: The lip looks like it may make typing hard if your hands are at an angle. But it IS a logitech KB; if it feels anything like my logitech illuminated KB I'd call that good.

Personally, my solution was the no-KB option and a bluetooth KB. More expensive, but it's the all around BEST option I think (set the KB on my coffee table, keyboard on my lap.)

I'll upload a comparison between the iChair and the Zaggmate soon.

You should put a skin on the ipad also (clear protector, bestskinsever, or ZAGG) before putting it in a case. I used a Speck case and the case actually scratched my ipad.

So, how much does that case weigh and how much thicker is your iPad 2 when inside that case?

A lot of cases add too much bulk and weight for my tastes.

I've looked at these kind of cases, but it looks like hte keyboard presses against the iPad screen, so in a worst-case scenario, they could scratch it. (I'm considering jsut getting an apple thin BT keyboard for when I need it)

I went with the Apple SmartCover and love it, Becides that I used the old neoprene sleeve from my netbook. It fits the iPad fairly well and could easilly be modified to house cables, etc inside it and a strap on the outside (planning these)

Personally, the iPad 2 is so thin, putting it in a case is hiding it's beauty. I put a BestSkinsEver skin on the back and use the regular smart cover.

This is the way I feel about most covers I see. Bulky and heavy....they destroy the sleek looks and feel of iPad 2. I too have a smart cover and skin on the back.

HAve you guys had any problems with these skins distorting sound on the Mic/Speaker or blurring the Camera? I've always heard these skins tend to do that and that's why I was against getting one (though I do agree, if I could scratch-proof the ipad itself I'd love not to use a bulky case since I found there's no reason to carry a power adapter around)

The skin I have doesn't cover any port nor does it move. So no, in my case, at least.
