Gamasutra has an interview up with one of the current great game designers. There are a load of interesting quotes, but I found this one the most amusing:

I'll go even further, and say that for the casual market, next generation hasn't happened yet. For the casual market, Peggle is where it's at, man! And that could've been done on a Commodore 64.

Sad thing is that he is right on the money. The Casual Gamer is the biggest cash cow in the video game future.
 
I think Casual Gamers are those who buy 1 - 2 games ever so often and play 1 - 2 hrs a day.
