If you are the parent of a teenager and you have an internet connection…I got bad news for you. If your teenager has a cell phone….I g0+ b4I> newz 4 u 2.

Specifically, a study commissioned by non-profit organization the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy has revealed that around a third of young adults and 20 percent of teenagers have posted naked or semi-naked images or videos of themselves to other mobile phone handsets.

These kids should be forced to watch the movie American Pie, it has some great morale tales of what happens when you put yourself out there for the world to see.

You know, some people are just plain stupid. Kids that put pictures of themselves drinking (underage) and smoking, or scandalously clad - I swear if you made an account as some hot broad and befriended as many people as possible and copied a few scandalous pictures of people and their names then waited 20 or 30 years, the potential hush money to be made is huge for sitting on maybe a few gigs of data.

Anyway, that's my paranoid thought which keeps me from being a rtard AND employers check AND who wants to look like a dumbass with pictures of themselves with puke on their shirt and sharpie on their face.

Tighten the privacy controls as much as possible, don't post anything you wouldn't want your mother to see, and ask that anything you don't have control of to be removed.

Time to change the child porn laws, unless you want to have most of the prisons filled with adolescents who are just following natures call. To be considered child porn, it should actually be children not adolescents and to be labeled porn it should have sex not just nudity or suggestive poses. And the crime should me making it and selling it, not just seeing it. Enough of the morality nazis trying to create thought crimes.

There was another story awhile ago where in one high school half the students had such pics on their phones of computers.

LOL i remember back in highschool we had the typical slut sending pictures to people online ( hell our local school just had that happen with a teacher LOL ) and my buddy printed out like 100 copies of it and put it everywhere in the school, mailed it to her parents ( old mail, like with a stamp ) and it was hilarious. Maybe Im kinda harsh, but if these whores ( not just chicks, Im not being sexist, guy whores too ) wanna put themselves out there then I hope someone does that.

I mean, come on, Ive seen this too many times in my life. Girl sleeps with many guys and they each get a few pics of her. Thats against my life style, but to each their own, Ill respect your rights. Sooner or later one of them is gonna get pissed ( she sleeping around with everyone ) and pass around the pics. She gets all upset and shit. What the hell did you think would happen? Now Im not advocating CP or anything like that (my wife was raped when she was 9 so I can be serious here) but come on people. If you dont think that some how this shit will get out on the web or atleast passed around between people then you are an idiot. Just like all the idiot disney kids who take pics of themselves ( Miley in a shower with just a white Tee on, yea, thats not gonna get passed around at all, and there was nothing wrong with that, just her being a free minded person ) and act all suprised when their shit ends up on a million web pages that night. Oops.

People, especially kids, just think about the wants and the nows. Um, I wanna send some naked pics so he'll love me. I dont care If I run for any imprtant job in the future and these show up, I want him to love me now. *click* - send -
Or, kids texting while driving (Pisses me off to no end when Im on the highway)
O, coolz, I got a text, lets read it and reply with many LOLz. O shit, I cant see the road anymore cuz Im texting, O shit I just hit that lady crossing the street, O well, it was a funny chain text so it was worth it.

Im not supporting this in any way, but I hope that some of these people get what they deserve. Humility is one of the best teaching aides.

I know my kids arent getting a 200$ phone that they can do stupid things with, Im getting them a 1980s cellphone, you know, they big one that had the huge whip antenna. No porn on that baby!

Step 1 - Never let pictures of your naked body onto the Internet or into the possession of another individual.

Any retard can easily learn to capture webcam video. Even if they are too stupid for that they probably atleast know how to take screenshots (or will google it).

Same for mobile phones. Once its sent they can get it off of there, put it anywhere else. Send it to whoever... ug... kids are so stupid.

I recently cleaned up someones home computer (kids computer) for them to use as an office computer. It was slow as crap and had the normal kid crap on it. Lots of spyware, ringtone downloaders, etc... To top it off their young teens had naked pictures of themselves and their myspace buddies they had been trading around. I deleted all of it and told him to slap the crap out of his son since if he had been audited he probably would have been run into the ground on kiddie porn charges and had his whole life ruined.

Funny story, after I broke up with this girl, I heard from a source that her email box was full of pics from naked guys she met on AOL (you can tell how old this was because people were still using AOL). I also later heard that a naked picture of her got spread around her high school.

I'm not a bad person for thinking it's funny. She definitely deserved it. I'm just glad I wasn't the one who did it.

Back in the day, I was surprised how easy it was to get people to send naked pics of themselves. I'm sure it still is, I've just moved on to other things in life (but you can't blame a man for keeping his old collection).

actually, people need to get the stick of of their ass about stupid shit people do in their private lives.

i dont care if my boss posted nude pices
i dont care if my politician had an orgy
i dont care is some celeb is banging everything that walks

the problem is all of you. you DO care. you DO make an issue out of non-issues.

there will be embarrassing things in public knowledge for pretty much everyone in the near future, if one wants to look for it. gonna have to learn to deal with it.

So blade, its ok to look at naked 13 year olds (their teens, not children) bent over a couch ( no, their not suggesting sex, just posing creatively.... ) with a face that screams please fux me?

Thats just sick. I hate myspace and how young people show themselves on their, but thats my view. I respect their own views, but yours is crazy. Your saying that its perfectly fine for all the kids in school to have and pass around pics of their fellow underage peers ( maybe your kids... ) since they didnt make it and they didnt sell it. O, Julie isnt getting penetrated by her 14yr old boyfriend so that makes it ok because its not sex yet??!?!?! Not to mention all the "other" people that are going to see it online. Their good to because of what you say? Thats just plain crazy. Yea, sexuality is a normal thing that we all express in our own ways, but your saying that its perfectly fine to have all kinds of kiddie porn and what not on your phones, these kids arent doing anything wrong with creating porn of themselves and passing it around for free. Thats animal right there, and we are all better than that. We are where we are because we carry ourselves higher than animals. Natures call my ass. We were all horny as kids, but you cant use that as an excuse for a life changing mistake. Are we going to stop this? Never, but that doesnt mean that we should accept it and allow it. we should always strive to prevent it. Educating kids is one step, but as parents we should be doing our part by not letting them do stupid things like this. Kids dont need fancy camera phones. Keep your kids internet exposure monitored.

I had a friend of mine that was in the same case. His daughter had pics of herself sprawled out and nude on her computer (14) (she left her SD card in the slot, dumbass) I promptly deleted all of it using a 7 pass program ( so it cant be recovered ever ) and set up a small network in his house. Now, the only computer she can use is in the living room in plain view, she has restricted rights, and not enough privleges to erase her own foot prints (if she was even that smart). He was going to take the PC into Best buy and have the geek squad fix it, but I told him i'd do it. You have any idea how much trouble he'd get in for his daughter leaving that card there? Call me a Nazi or a parent, its your choice. We can never control ( nor should we ) everything a kid will do, but doing your part to prevent them from making a mistake is the job of a parent. Now my friend can say that he is doing his part to keep his daughter from screwing up his life and hers ( and the familys, you dont fare so well in those cases ) until she is responsible enough to watch her own ass. Call me a Nazi, but in 15 years when she is a parent and has her own kids, she'll thank me. (she hates me now LOL cuz I told her dad, that was an odd conversation...) I just made sure the kid couldnt ruin her life before she was responsible enough to see the scope of what she wanted to do. I know that seems Nazi to some, but I guess those of us that want to be good parents and not good friends are few and far between.

O and about us making a problem. Yea, we do. And that's our right. I elect my politicians to represent my side of the story. If he/she is caught having a big orgy or sheating on their wife or doing drugs/ what not, thats not my view, so I am upset with them. I gave them the job of representing me and if they arent representing me then I should make an issue of it.

About hollywood, well, I cant stand that double standard. But, as a celebrity with people 2 ft up your ass when your drinking a cup of joe at starbucks, what do you thinks gonna happen if you "bang everything that walks"? They can do that all they want, but they shouldnt act suprised when its on all the magazines. Does it mean that we should be passing around their sex tapes, NO. But, it does mean they either want it out there or are just that damn stupid to think it wouldnt get out there.

And there isnt always embarisng things about you in public, thats only if you let it. Ive got no nude pictures of me or my wife, no criminal record, no speeding tickets, same for her, we never did drugs, we dont go out and get shitfaced at public parties (or private ones for that matter) but we like to drink. Ive never "beat people up" or anything that could come back to haunt me. I have no debt, but Im not rich, I work a 8$ an hour job, I just am responsible about shopping and only buy what I can afford. I keep clean because its the right thing to do and because Ill lose my security clearance if I jack up and then Ill have to get reclassed, lose my job, maybe rank, etc.. you cant label people just because they are squared away. Its not hard to do the right thing and leave no dirt on your record. Im glad my parents squared me away because I was starting down the path my uncle took (he's twice convicted murderer) but they corrected me and kept me from screwing up until I could see my own life ahead. I dont call them Nazis

Hell, racism will always be around, but that is no reason we should tolerate it. same idea...

** Damn this no edit button, Im trying to reply to like 4 posts in one and I cant think straight, I may seem a little swervey here

Pedophilia by definition is the attraction to prepubescent children.

Prepubescent children are not going to be taking revealing pictures of themselves.

I don't see a problem with this.

Hey, it doesn't bother me and I don't have a stick up my ass. I'm saying that a lot of people don't seem to understand the permanent nature of these things.

Would you care if your underage daughter had nude pics floating about because she didn't know better? I think you would.

Ha, fat chance of me EVER doing this. I can't even stand physical photos of myself (I hate having pics of me taken). Call me weird all you want, already had a couple girls in class call me weird because of my eating habits

So Vaulter98c, you want to throw 25% of teenagers into prison? If not then the laws should be changed to reflect the reality of the times, instead of legally imposing religious values on to others.

Your example is why the laws need changed. You friends daughter would have gone to prison if someone else had found those pics. Do you think she should have gone to prison for that? You obviously don't since you covered up the crime. So no matter how offensive you find the behavior, your actions seem to indicate you agree with me, that she shouldn't go to prison, if so the laws should change instead.

Criticize their behavior all you want, just don't throw adolescents into prison over it.

20%--That's all? I'm pretty sure that's the percentage that appears on Maury and Springer. Not concerned over on my side of the meme pool.

Most people would prefer their weren't nude pics of their daughter being passed around in school, but throwing her into prison for producing child porn would be a million times worse.

I don't think prison is even close to the answer, the problem is most kids are way more tech savvy than their parents making it difficult, if not impossible, for them to explain to their kids the dangers of these things in the same way they should about drugs, sex, violence, whatever. Unfortunately, most information aimed at parents is way too dumbed down and way too (for lack of a better word) overreactive - things like all myspace accounts are used only for hooking up, etc.

Kids need honest and truthful information before they develop the common sense that the rest of us adults have gained over the years. Be careful what you share, you don't know whose hands your data may end up in. Your computer may be stolen, your account may be hacked, your friend/boyfriend/girlfriend may use it as a weapon against you, or you just may wish that you had not released it after some period of time.

The article says that 73% of kids acknowledge the risks, but I'm not sure they understand the risks in the first place.

Sorry to post twice, but one last thing - and this is a bit hypocritical, I understand.

There IS a difference between something like sending a pic message to your GF/BF and something that is available for public viewing. Sure, a pic message might not be the best idea, but hopefully you can trust at least the one person to be mature enough. However, there are problems with people taking nude picture then uploading them onto publicly available photobucket accounts because they may be unaware of that fact. THAT is what I am most concerned with.

they shouldnt go to prison, but your post idicates we should turn a blind eye because its just nature's call. 72hrs - 2 weeks in juvee would be nice, as I did time there as a guard for a year and seen a lot of kids get their act together real quick. Amazing how your life changes when you're a little punk and you go to juvee and find out your not the center of the world. Your post says we should change the law as a whole, so It'd be fine for anyone to look at naked kids.

And in my example, he would have been screwed for having nude pictures of his own underage daughter, that would be real hard to blow off as hers, even if she admitted (is he making her say it to cover for him?).

SO, what do we do? Let it all go because its just nature? Were just animals after all? I think the system we have now is good in design, poor in execution. It should be a crime to distribute it, not necessarily to make it. If one girl wants to send a naked pic to a guy, thats her wish, her right I guess you could say (even tho passing images of naked teens is illegal but thats another thread). The receiving end passing it out, they should be punished, yes. Prison, no, but I cant recal a case where they have gone to prison recently. Usually a few hundred service hours (which is a joke now a days) and they are off scott free. I think some blame needs to be directed at the sending party as well. No public punishment obviously because that would be infringing on her rights, but atleast the judge needs to say something, maybe have a support group like AA or what not that is PRIVATE, so no one else would know, but so the sender could learn from their mistake. Whats so important about a highschool relationship that you NEED to send naked pics? If its to the point that you need to, then maybe the relationship should be reevaluated. Since parents arent teaching their kids these things, a support group would be a cheap easy way to do it. If the sender gets the chance to realize how much that could come back to haunt them, they will walk away from the mess educated so it doesnt happen again. About the other party, the ones that passed the pics around, whats wrong with some time? I mean, like a week in juvee. Create some kind of label that shows a teen as a sex offender but to a lesser degree, and have it esponged (how do you spell that?) once they are 18. This way, they'd have something that followed them around for a year or two and they would do some time and hopefully realize what they did was wrong, but would give them a second chance at a better adult record that wouldnt be scarred by a stupid teen mistake. Thats my view on how it should be done.

Nothing should be changed for adults. Still go to prison because some of these pics will work their way into adults hands.

Again, I want to point out, while I dont think a teen should send around naked pics of themselves, thats their wish, and I guess they can do it. I think its stupid, but to each their own. Im saying we should do something more than a few service hours when someone passes around a pic, and the sender should get some form of education or counseling about what all can happen when they do things like that. The article shows that more people are seeing these pics than what were meant too. If we do something about the people who distribute the material, then maybe less people will pass it around. Likely, no, but it sure beats allowing it to go on and turning a blind eye because its nature. Then we'd all be happy. They could go living their lives sending all these naked pics, but maybe atleast a few people would think before they sent that pic out to others and fewer people would have their private lives made so public.

Is that good enough for you?

the problem is most kids are way more tech savvy than their parents
I think the problem is kids THINK they are tech savvy. They think if they delete the pic its gone. They dont realize how even a sent text message is never really gone. You cited 73% ack. the risks and I think you are spot on that they really dont understand the long term picture.

Be careful what you share, you don't know whose hands your data may end up in. Your computer may be stolen, your account may be hacked, your friend/boyfriend/girlfriend may use it as a weapon against you, or you just may wish that you had not released it after some period of time.

Couldnt have said it better, but the problem is parents aren't instilling them in their kids. (not all parents obviously but you get the idea) I think maybe a once a month meeting that you only have to go to once could solve this because obviously the parents arent doing it. Again, this article is just about cell phones, so am I. Thinks like photbucket and what not are a whole nother mess. A private message is all good, but once one party breaks that bond, they need to be punished to realize just what all it could mean in later years. I think the other party needs to be aware of the risks of what they do.

I mean, we already give out condoms and have std classes in school, why not one about this? Unless you get something real nasty, these pics could haunt you years more than some STDs will. We have sex ed support groups already (Planned Parenthood) why shouldnt they just offer a quickie class about what you could be doing? Its not like sex ed is keeping them from having sex (were giving them tax payer sponsored condoms for goodness sake) so we arent stepping on any shoes, but we are giving them education on what they are doing.

I mean if a guy in my work place was forced to go to 40 hours of Cultural Diversification and Differances class for saying he couldnt understand the towel head on the help line he called then why is it to much to ask to educate people of the risks and actually show the distributers that what they do is wrong?

guys maybe we are taking this a little to seriously? granted technology has changed the rules but isn't this a lot like playing doctor? I can remember doing this as a kid, in fact latter on during a brief reunion I got to tell her that it had grown a beard :D I don't think what the kids are doing initially is necessarily that bad, its the new form its taking that is causing the issue.

Really what has changed here is the media and how easy it is to distribute. and there really does need a whole revamping of a lot of laws regrading everything, laws don't keep up with the times. and parents are going to have to do what they always have had to do (or should do) and keep track of their kids. its not always possible but in the day and age of the babysitter referred to as the TV parents need to be reminded that a computer is NOT a TV and is a very wide window to a big world.

One word, TMI. Err 3 letters.

Pedophilia by definition is the attraction to prepubescent children.

Prepubescent children are not going to be taking revealing pictures of themselves.

I don't see a problem with this.
Child Porn and Pedophilia are two different things buddy. Good thing you aren't a lawyer. heh ;)

Probably a bad thing, but at school, when you browse public folders on the network....you find a lot of these incriminating folders on the network.

I usually will find the girl and tell her to give them to me, delete them, and unshare her folder. In that order.

this just in!!

After spending 50 million dollars on a 10 year study scientists have found out that eating McDonalds everyday for lunch will make you a fat ass!

The "teens" in this study includes legal adults... 18 and 19 year olds. They also lump things like pictures and sexual messages. This could mean a dirty joke. Take everything from this study with a grain of salts as it looks like they specifically arranged the age groups and questions to manipulate the data to make a point.

When I was 16 or 17, my 16 yr old neighbor (hottie btw) wanted to give her BF some pics for christmas. So, she asked me if I could help out so of course I said YES. This was before digital cams were super popular, so we used polaroid LOL. We ended up taking about 4-5 pictures of her semi-nude, just topless with boy shorts or something. One of the pics had her hands tied up. lol....

Anyway, long story short, somehow her mom found out that we took the pictures and demanded she get them back from her BF.

Another time, I found out an ex-gf of mine (who was honestly a good girl but was easily influenced) posed nude for some website and got $200 so she and a friend could get matching tattoos. Well, I told her sister who subsequently told her mom. I felt bad, but really I think I did the right thing.

bingo! its just fucking being naked...who the fuck cares...where do those parents think their teens came from.

If they want to show it off i say good for them. thats part of the beauty of the human body. People need to get over this prudishness. The child porn laws that aren't actually child porn laws are living proof of this. across the globe its normal to marry 13/14 year olds... here you go to jail if you complement them.

target the actual child porn... going after teens is pointless, it's gonna happen and this hush hush about sex/nudity is rediculous... damn i was touchin boobs since i was like 14/15....

I dont think thats the point of the law....

The child pornography law is out there to stop offenders. It makes it illegal to produce and/or distribute, and gives the law a way to prosecute someone for doing so.

To Manaknight:

I somewhat agree with your THEORY, but not your statement in one bit. A teen of the legal age (18/19) will be given her full right to do whatever she pleases with respect to pictures or videos.

What worries me is those 17 and under. Its not just because of the law.... its a religious and moral matter.

The reason why these pictures get online, puts all the blame on the parents, but with that aside, I still feel that it shouldnt happen.

You're right Manaknight, babies come from sex, but how can you honestly be okay with people under the legal age posting pictures of themselves. In those countries that girls get married at 13 years old, out of all those girls, how many do YOU think freely consented without duress?

The biggest question is why? What is pressuring these girls to do these things? I'm not talking about a 15 year old with 3 of her friends at a pool party in bikinis taking pictures, Im talking about private and provocative pictures of themselves.

I sincerely doubt that they do it for themselves. They're doing it to compete with other girls, some young dick asked them to, or they're doing it to get attention. Where are they getting these thoughts from? Older siblings? Internet?

Must just be a personal thought. I've had a girlfriend for 3 years, and the only physical thing we have done is make out. I love her to death, and one of my most favorite things about her is her modesty. I wouldn't change her innocence for the other. There are more important things for young people to focus on.

Unfortunately, its going to be parents ....(blocked it off so I dont point fingers).... that will be okay with their 11 year old daughter becoming sexually active, and God forbid, a child to come of it at an early age.

Even at 20 years old, I dont feel that I could fully consent to sexual activities for the pleasure of it, with a chance at conception. I'm not ready, I'm not ready to be a father, and I'm not able to provide for a family. With the economy in a downturn and the importance in school to attempt to secure a stable job, I wouldn't want to do anything foolish now that may inhibit my quality of life in the future.

I see it now, there are girls in my college classes that come in, every single class with their kids. These girls are my age, and their children have been from newborns to 7 years old.

My girl's done bad on both - and she's only 12. We knew not to trust her with Internet or a cell phone, but what good can be done when she figures out the password, or borrows a cell phone?
