I have a hard drive and a PSU laying around. I want to make an external HDD. All I want to kno wis if there is somewhere or even something that I can use to get the internal hard drive into a USB without having to buy one of the cases. So basically, is there a connector that will do this without the case or ac component? Size is not really a factor.
Thank you

Most USB to IDE adapters cost about the same as a cheap USB case..

I've seen USB2 5.25" enclosures as cheap as 20 bucks shipped..
