Intel X4500 or ATI 9200

I know they both kinda suck, but I currently have ATI 9200 (AGP) and am thinking of getting a motherboard with GMA X4500. The 9200 is definitely older, but the X4500 is integrated. X4500 also has better Linux support which is what I use. But for gaming, which one is better?

mm buy the mobo the x4500 isnt as bad, and you will have a good proccesor with it, i think that your 9200 is paired with a pentium4. But for gamming I think both are really lame right now, most of the games will run, but at 800x600 and not everything max out. Go for the mobo, then upgrade to a 5750 or 5600 in january/february,

Neither are going to get you very far. If I had to choose one I would go with the intel. I doubt you would see much of a difference either way.

The 9200 doesn't even support most modern games (it's a DX8.1 card), so the GMA X4500 is the way to go.

GMA X4500... the 9200 won't help you with anything.

as a previous owner of a 9200 card and current owner of x4500, go with the 4500 for sure. DX10 support and HD playback works just fine. wont do many games, but will def fare way better than the 9200.

The Radeon9800 a lither lower than a FX5900Ultra, and the FX5900 Ultra gets pushed over by a 6800 (the better kind, not the lower end 6800).

The 6800 is roughly comparible to a 8400GS, which is just barely over a X4500HD.

The X4500HD is just inbetween the 8400G, and the 8400GS.

So....

in theory (memory bandwidth nonwithstanding), the X4500HD is just as fast in games.

EDIT: a 9200? It'll get pushed over by the X4500HD

Actually, the 9800 is quite a bit more powerful than the 5900.

A 6800 is more like an overclocked 8500GT. It's much faster than an 8400GS.

All of that is moot given the actual topic, but those are some pretty big errors so I thought I'd correct them.

The Intel chipset buys you modern video acceleration, plus better support for modern games (neither will play them well).

I'd upgrade just for the video acceleration, especially since the next version of Flash will make use of that acceleration (currently in beta test).

I always thought a 8500gt was an OC'd 8400gs (!), so I really screwed up there.
