Intel RAID Driver Update Problems

Soo, my WHS box was getting full so I ordered some 2.5TB drives thinking I would be able to run the GPT hack. Unfortunately I couldn't get the box to see the drives as their proper size, I think because the nVidia storage drivers couldn't see it. In the process I managed to screw up my server to the point where I get 12 error messages on boot. I am going to rebuild the server and put in some extra 1TB EADS drives, to hell with hacking it to work with advanced format or larger drives.

So now I am trying to install the 2.5TB drives to my main desktop so I can backup the server before the rebuild. Only problem is the desktop has the same problem, it can't see the correct size. I am currently running 2x 80GB G2 drives in RAID0 with Intel MSM 8.5.0.1030. I haven't updated the drivers because it looks like a major pain in the ass.

So my question is, how do I update my Intel drivers to RST 10.1+ (for 2.2TB+ support) without breaking my existing RAID0 array? Do I really have to do the F6 pre install that Intel talks about? Will I have to blow away my OS install and start clean?

I am really regretting not just getting a 2TB drive, this headache is way too much...
 
Get the newest drivers from here (10.8.1003) and unzip to your desktop.

It contains both the 32&64 bit versions.

Go to the Device manager, locate the Intel SATA RAID controller under Storage drivers and update the drivers from there.

IDK if updating the drivers will help ya but you need it anyway. :)

And no, it doesn't screw with your RAID.
 
I am pretty sure you had to update to one of the beta bios's for proper >2TB support for that board. unfortunately, DFI got out of the non-industrial motherboard business, and screwed a lot of people who bought the lanparty series boards by stopping further bios development. Unfortunately, even the beta BIOS I don't believe ever worked right, and broke more things than it fixed. You might be best off just buying a cheap PCIe SATA card (if you have the slot available) with proper >2TB support, though you probably won't be able to boot from it.
