Hai guys,
Will newegg's site be fully updated at 12:00 for people to buy because of the pricedrop? If not then what time? If not then do you know what time it will be updated at? I don't feel like waiting till the afternoon and seeing the cpu I want to buy sold out :eek:
Sorry if there was a thread on this already...haven't been in the Intel section in quite a while now.
Maybe things won't be sold out because they will have so many batches...

Well the Q6600 is available right now for $299. I doubt it will drop much more than that.
 
I'm hoping these actualy show up somewhere in the vicinity of what Intel says their MSRPs are... the e6850 is suppose to be $266 MSRP... but all I'm seeing is 305 lowest price for it on websites ripping you off that lie and have "Listed price $349" next to it so it looks like a deal, even though everyone who has seen intell's charts knows that $266 is the msrp already injected with high profits per chip, and that anything higher is a complete and total ripoff.

If the e6850 shows up at above intel's stated msrp at the egg, it will seriously hurt my opinion of this etailer that I've used for over half a decade.

lastly, you should consider that its not July 22nd in Cali till its 3:00am here on the east coast. So you got some time to get your hopes up and be torn afterwards.
 
Well of course I'm waiting till 12, and when it is, it will be 3 in the east cost ;)
So, back to me question though, will Newegg update their site at 12 ? Or will it fully take action by morning?

$266 is the price Intel charges VAR's for a 1,000 unit order. It's not the MSRP.
 
newegg will probably lower it on Monday.
Hopefully they bring the new E 1333mhz one
 
what's up with the prices on the E4300? I could get a E4400 for a dollar less >:O

For the Q6600 (and I'm guessing this is true with new Duo CPUs as well) you won't be able to know right now whether it's B3 or G0 unless you order it through someone like TankGuys (be aware that you may not receive your G0 until like late August, though). The Q6700 is G0 standard.

Monday afternoon because Newegg is really slow when it comes to price drop. Honestly, its not worth losing sleep over, there will be plenty to go around. Worst case scenario Newegg sells out, there is still Mwave, Clubit, ZZF, and ewiz.

Clubit, Newegg, and Mwave are literally within 1 mile from each other so competition amongst them is pretty obvious. Plus since Microcenter price matches to Newegg (Tuesday morning) you can just get it at Microcenter as well.
 
the " BX80557E6850 " code on both the mwave and the other e6850 makes me think they must be G0 when lined up with the info from that wiki... am I correct to assume this?

I don't think the e6850 has anything aside from G0 steppings, so I don't see why not.
 
I know, but I'm hoping they will bring it in tomorrow. If not..then mwave it is. Or tigerdirect. I might just stick w/ the E6600, I have no clue! :p
 
Like I said earlier, any updates on Newegg will most likely be done on Monday morning around 7 or 8am PDT. I have never seen Newegg update their site on weekends or holidays.

They stand to lose a lot of customers by not updating while other suppliers already have.

not really. They'll still end up as one of the lower priced VARs and make it up in future sales. They have a lot of loyal customers (me included).
 
Newegg will update their prices and inventory on Monday as many people have stated so far.

I buy (like most others) where ever they have the best deal at the time I need something as long as they are a good E-Tailer. Newegg is OK, but lately they are a bit lacking on customer support and their prices haven't been the best. I've been shopping at a lot of smaller shops here lately and will more than likely do so again with my new C2D (ordering tonight).

My point was it was cheaper at Mwave..not that it was a GO...

And I really think you guys are making WAY too much of the GO..its not gonna be the holy grail your hoping for.....wait and see.

Maybe I will eat those words but I doubt it :)

They're just trying to suck every last penny out of the customers for the "OLD" CPU's to make more money for them selves. In the end that's what it's all about, the bottom line for the big business, not saving money for the customers.........:eek: The EGG is larger than most the rest and has a higher stockage count than most, so they need to try and unload as many "OLD" CPU's at a higher price to help cut losses, then they will list the new Cores. They're in business to make money after all.

why is the stepping important? does a certain stepping usually provide a better OC or something?

Yup, sometimes it's only a small differance in OC'ing, this time around (G0) the stepping seems to be making a fairly huge differance...........:D I'll be ordering something shortly I think.

You can bet that they have them in stock already, they are just holding off selling them to clear out old stockage to limit their losses on the old chips as much as they can. Remember that the weekends are the biggest selling days and the average buyer/user has no idea about the price cuts and new CPU's, the large E-tailers are just taking advantage of the lack of informed buyers. Folks like us on the forums are a extremely small percentage of their overall business.
