Hey guys, humor me on this one:

Post the following...

1) P4/533 2.53 @ 3.0GHz. (Stock Fan with CPU @ 1.70V)

2) Idle Temp = 38C (100F)

3) Load Temp = 49C (120F)

The purpose of this is to find where I should be running. Plus, it's cool to see where everyone else is compared to yours.

P4 2.4C @ 3.2

Idle: 42 C
Load: 53 C

Zalman CNPS-7000AlCu

I'm using an Abit though, and apparently, even when using MBM, the temp reading is still getting it from the Abit sensor, so my temps might be 3 - 5 C higher than the reading.

2.4C @ 3.6ghz

Idle : ~33c
Load : ~48c

Im using a Thermalright SLK-948U w/ 92mm Panaflo

P4 2.8c

37.5 idle

51.5 load

Currently on a [kinda donated] Coolermaster Aero 4.

I'm going to get a better CPU cooler this summer to keep low temps and reduce noise, but I'm not getting much help on the question I posted. Oh well. :-p

1.6a @ 2.24 (1.55v)
39C idle
43C load

Dangerden Maze4. Need to redo the tubing and maybe get a better pump but that will have to wait until May after finals are done.

2.4c @ 3.2

reading from bios sensors

idle: 42C
load: 65C

obviously these are exagerated by abit, im only using a volcano 7+ on the 4800rpm. i just ordered the koolance exos, so once i get that all setup ill post again

P2.8E with Boxed Cooler
Idle 48°C
Load 55°C

Abit IC7-Max3
1Gb Corsair PC4000

I`m working on my watercool setup :)

2.8C @ 3.6 - recently increased from 3.5
idle ~32C
load ~42C

Corsair Hydrocool 200 E

waterblock temp sensor
idle ~28.5C
load ~30.0C - dropped .5 with same ambient temp

"running at 3ghz and idles at 45C and loads at 61C, still a bit high, but thats the problem with abit boards, the temps read are always 10-15C higher than the real temps"

I ran across this today. I have the new Abit AI7. Why does Abit do this to the temps?

So, I can automatically take 10C off my temp readings?

Abits use a slightly different equation to calculate the temp from the readings it gets from the CPU sensor. It's a question that's noted on the Abit forums.

Where did you read that though? Abits read high, but I don't think it's as drastic as 10 - 15. I've heard anywhere from 3 - 5 up to 10, so I really don't know.

stock 3.0c, stock heatsink, abit IC7max3
idle~38
load~50

my load temps are after 3 hours of BF vietnam.
im gonna get a swiftech mxc 478, and a stealth fan. AS5.
my temps SHOULD drop around 4 to 5 degrees. hopefully!!:D

P4 2.4C @ 3.3
Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu

Idle: 36
Load: 53

I can't understand why I get such high temps now. Originally I used to get 33 and around 48. I've used a total crap load of Ceramique and now a real thin layer of Ceramique, and I get around the same temps. Anybody know what the heck is going on? I have 5 case fans, two blow in at the front, two blow out at the back, and one blows in at the side.

2.8c stock Intel hsf, Abit IC7 [temps from Abit EQ sensor]
37c idle
49c load
I'm going to assume these temps are accurate. If they're off due to Abits utility all the better.
Load temps got as high as 58 when overclocked to 3150ghz and running Prime 95 for 4 hours.

Stock cooling.

Do you live in a refridgerator or some place with a very low ambient temp?

edit: wait, you use an Asus board, which uses a different way of calculating CPU temps and they report very low temps.

P4 3.0

Idle 35C (My idle is running 2 instances of folding) other wise 29C

Loaded 36C (Running Battlefield 1942)

Amd 64 3400+

Idle 35C (One instance of folding)

Loaded 36C (Battlefield 1942)

No the readings are correct. I touched the heatsink while it was priming and well....it wasn't hot or even warm...I'm in the basement so the ambient temps are somewhere around 40-54F

P4 3.2g @very very high stock speed(3.2)
43C and climbing@ idle acc to hardcano 9(just running one prog Winfast TV)
50+C @ load(load playing games BF1942 demo, Halo, NFSU)
SP-94 wit TT smart w/cool led(loud) fan

guess what kind of p4 i got:eek:

idle 53*C
load 71*C

running 3.0E@3.0ghz

and have a shitty areo 4 lite

don't worry i didn't eat paint chips i have w/c right here ready to go in.:)

p4 2.4@2.7
abit it7 max2 rev2
stock cooler

idle 47
100% load(running folding) 60-62
ambient temp 28-33

although i don't have any problems with such high temperatures, so far.....i am a little concerned
any suggestions?
i was thinking about buying thermalright's cooler

if it is true that abit mobos are showing higher temps how much higher?

PS: i have 2 intake fans at the front and 2 at the back blowing out

2.8C @ 3.37
ambient: 26 C
idle: 30 C
load: 37 C

koolance....
yea yea say what you want it's still decent temps

P4 3.2C@3.2 v1.6 (don't know how to overclock yet :p) SP94 w/ 92mm Sunon

idle: 29ºC

load: 39ºC (UT2k4, Raven Shield, SiSoftware Sandra)

Using AsusProbe to read temps

1) P4/533 2.26 @ 2.85 1.7v (AS5 / Koolance CPU-200S waterblock)

2) Idle @ 31 C

3) Load @ 39 C

Type Arctic Silver in the search at newegg.

I came across a tube of the copper stuff 2nd down on the list. I am getting around 125F under UT2K4 with retail fan on my P4 2.53 @ 2.8GHz.

What is the best arctic silver stuff to get? Is the copper any good or should I get some of this other stuff in this list? Which one transfers the heat the best?

Also, after applying, do you have to let it set in for a couple days or can you expect the most heat transfer right away?

Thanks guys.

With the Arctic Silver, should I scrape off the intel heat pad or keep it?
